Dear Ones,
- When I ask people how they get to heaven,
the usual answer is "by being good."
- "I'm a good person and God will take
me up to Heaven." Is that what you think?
Yes No
Do you know the ten commandments? Yes
No
If you do list just as many as you can?
Keeping the folowing verses in mind, would
you say that a thought is a deed?
Yes No
- "For though we walk in the flesh,
we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare
are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of
strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing
into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your
obedience is fulfilled." (2
Corinthians 10:3-6 kjv)
-
- Now remembering that a thought is a deed
take a look at the Ten Commandments
(Exodus 20:3-17)
And looking at Isaiah
64:6 be honest, does that make you a sinner who is not
fit for Heaven, since God cannot look at sin? Yes No
1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have
no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."
Do you think Jesus thought of Himself as good?
Yes No
Describe what He had to say about that?
Here is what He said in Matthew
19:17
What is going to happen to you on Judgment
Day if the wages of sin is death and subsequent eternal hell?.
- Human beings were originally meant to have
eternal life with God. but the original parents of humanity disobeyed,
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all
men, for that all have sinned:
- ( Romans 5:12 ) All of humanity was cursed and condemned to death.
Is there a way out?
Yes No
If yes, what might that be?
Since the penalty for sin is death and eternal
hell and animal sacrifices were only temporay remedies, what
had to happen for us to receive a permanent remedy? Did someone
have to take our sins upon Himself so we could be set free from
sin?
Yes No
Could this person be just anyone since all
humans are sinners. In other words can a person who is under
this law of sin and death take our sins upon himself to give
us eternal life with God? Yes No
Who is the only one who can take our sins
away because He is not under the law of sin and death?
What did He have to do to set us free from
this law?
Could He do it from Heaven? Yes No
Since the blood of animal sacrifices was sprinkled
on sinners to cleanse them temporarily and God is a Spirit, Who
has no blood, what had to happen?
- If you had problems answering that, check:
John 1:1 and
John 1:14
-
- Since God spoke to this in this manner, "the
Word that was made flesh" in Matthew
3:17 was this flesh God Himself?
- Yes No
-
- If you marked "no" who was it?
-
- Why was He the only One Whose blood would
be sufficient for all the sins of the world? Was it because he
was
- 100% human? Yes No or
- 100% Spirit? Yes No
- or both? Yes No
-
- If it was both, who is this person?
-
- Why did the people wish to kill this human
who had served them?
-
- If you couldn't answer that question, check
John 15:22-25
Can you imagine how hard it must have been
for God to lay all sins of all huamn beings such as criminal
acts, rape, murder, theft, physical and psychological abuse on
innocent people, torture, drunkeness, deception, lies, evil speaking,
taking God's name in vain, abortion, sexual sins, in fact all
immorality, etc.. on the shoulders of His INNOCENT, SPOTLESS
"only begotten Son" and then turn His back on Him because
God cannot look upon sin. Jesus thought that God had forsaken
Him before He gave up the Spirit. Does it make you feel like
you want to add more sin to what has already transpired?
Yes No
- Is there forgiveness for deliberate sin after
a person has received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (born again)
for which the penalty has been paid in full?
- Yes No
Explain how the people got Jesus Christ's
blood to flow unto the ground which saved mankind from death?
What did Jesus Christ accomplish when He offered
His blood willingly for our redemption? He left us a new will.
The old will was cancelled. What was the old will? Two words:
This grace, or forgiveness of sins, only applies
to those who receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior because
He literally purchased us and because of that we only need to
repent (1. stop deliberately sinning by obeying the Word of God,
2) do the symbolic death and resurrection by immulating Christ's
death and resurrection, by water baptism after we receive the
Holy Spirit baptism.
NOW: "Therefore being justified by
faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein
we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations
also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience,
experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed;
because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy
Ghost which is given unto us.
For when we were yet without strength,
in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous
man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would
even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, being now justified by
his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if,
when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death
of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by
his life.
And not only so, but we also joy in God
through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the
atonement. {note: atonement = 'At
One Ment'}
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into
the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men,
for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world:
but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to
Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude
of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to
come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift.
For if through the offence of one many
be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which
is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not
as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment
was by one to condemnation, but the free
gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's
offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance
of grace and of the gift of righteousness
shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Therefore as by the offence of one judgment
came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness
of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of
life.
For as by one man's disobedience many were
made sinners, so by the obedience of one
shall many be made righteous. Moreover
the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin
abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned
unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto
eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 5:1-21)
