The HOLINESS OF GOD

The Holiness of God is a characteristic unique to God's nature
which becomes the goal for human moral character. The understanding
of what it means to be "holy" is important for an understanding
of God, of worship, and of the people of God in the Bible.

ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. {8} And ye shall keep my
statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you."

The church as we knew it, is undergoing disintegration. This
began on a fast track in the early nineteen sixties when the
Catholic Church produced liberal Vatican II to replace Vatican
I.
- The trend since then has been ecumenical which is truly what
the word 'Catholicism' means: a universal religion all
inclusive and multicultural. The Bible calls for a final church
and today's church doesn't resemble what Jesus taught. The Word
of God has undergone many changes to fit the progressive modes.
Many new Bible translations have brought confusion. The Bible
calls for a falling away from the truth before
Jesus comes back for His Bride. The true believers are called
'Ekklesia.' Our newsletters prove this fact and prove that the
Bible is true from beginning to end.
- The second section is about globalism
where we bring your attention to the social, political and global
trend, the so called democratizing what is left of the world.
This is a deception since the underlying new world global government
is developed by implementing sustainable development. The
Bible prophesies that there will be ten kings (ten horns), each
king (horn) will receive a region of the world as a reward for
work well done for the Antichrist. This is the reason for the
present development of NAU (The North American Union) as well
as the war in the Middle East. It again proves that we are moving
to closure of the times of the Gentiles prophesied in the Bible.
The end result will not be Democracy but a form of Fascist Communism
(Public/Private Corporations enslaving mankind).

teachings because Israel is the time piece of the Biblical Prophecy.
1948 was the beginning of the figtree representing Israel, coming
back to life. Israel was allowed to return to its land. Israel
is the rock upon which the world stumbles and crumbles. We watch
and visit Israel for signs which point to the Tribulation to
confirm that we are moving into that space of time.

- George W Bush and Pope Benedict XVI have held an intimate meeting
in Rome as rumours mounted in Italy that the president may follow
in Tony Blair's footsteps and convert to Catholicism. The President
presented the Pope with a picture of the two of them. 
The two men spoke for half an hour in the 12th century Tower
of St John, a private area in the Vatican gardens which is used
by the pope for private reflection.
- The usual protocol for heads-of-state is a meeting in the
pope's library in the Apostolic Palace, but a spokesman for the
Vatican said Benedict wanted to reward Mr Bush for the "warmth"

control over one of the most sacred Christian sites in Jerusalem,
several European newspapers have reported recently. According
to the reports, Israel will give the Holy See possession of the
Coenaculum, or the Room of the Last Supper (also known as the
Upper Room or the Cenacle), on Mount Zion. In exchange, Israel
is to gain control of a 12th-century synagogue in Toledo, Spain,
which is currently the Santa Maria la Blanca Church, says the
Times of London. The synagogue became a church during the 15th-century
expulsion of Jews from Spain. Advertisement President Moshe Katsav
and Pope Benedict XVI are to announce the historic real estate
deal during their upcoming meeting in Rome, the reports claimed.
The Foreign Ministry has dismissed the reports as "nonsense,"
but they have already aroused stormy reactions from religious
factions warning against a change in the fragile status quo in
relations among Christians, Jews and Muslims. Israeli government
sources said the report recycles an old proposal that came up
during more than a decade of Israel-Vatican talks on bilateral
ties. They called the Catholic proposal "insulting and unreasonable,"
and said an Israeli investigation indicated that the Vatican
does not even own the Toledo church. The ministry said Israel
rejected the proposal in 2003 and that the issue has not been
raised since... In the last few days, officials in the Greek
Orthodox Church have asked the Jerusalem municipality for an
explanation, since it claims ownership of all of Mount Zion.
The Diaspora Yeshiva, which uses several buildings on Mount Zion,
asked Prime Minister Ariel Sharon yesterday to intervene in an
effort to prevent "the Tomb of David from getting into Christian
hands." ... In a letter to Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski,
Diaspora Yeshiva head Rabbi Mordechai Goldstein said the yeshiva
would not let such an agreement pass quietly. Diaspora Yeshiva
students have been involved in several violent conflicts with
their neighbors, and in 1978 took control of the Chapel of the
Holy Spirit, which is near the Room of the Last Supper. The two
rooms are considered the fourth-holiest site in the Christian
world. The Room of the Last Supper, where, as the name indicates,
the Last Supper is said to have taken place, is on the second
floor of the building in question. The first floor houses the
Tomb of David, a holy site for Jews and Muslims, where King David

Reuters June 9.2008 - VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Benedict
will unusually host talks with U.S. President George W. Bush
in a restored medieval tower on Friday, to repay him for a warm
reception at the White House, the Vatican said. The pope usually
receives heads of state in his private study in the Apostolic
Palace, overlooking St Peter's Square.
- But Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said the change was
to repay Bush for "the cordiality of the meeting at the
White House" when the pope visited the United States in
April. St. John's Tower is a round structure on a hilltop inside
the Vatican gardens that is sometimes used as a residence for
important guests. After their private talks, Bush and the pope
will stroll in the gardens to see a statue of the Madonna.
- The late Pope John XXIII, who reigned from 1958 to 1963,
restored the tower as a place where he could work in peace. Bush
will be in Rome from Wednesday to Friday as part of a trip to

- LONG-SOUGHT BOYHOOD HOME OF GEORGE WASHINGTON FOUND
- ScienceDaily - July 3, 2008 - Archaeologists working at the
site of George Washington’s childhood home have located
and excavated the remains of the long-sought house where Washington
was raised. The site was the setting of some of the best-known
stories related to his youth, including tales of the cherry tree
and throwing a stone across the Rappahannock River... Excavation
of the four cellars yielded thousands of artifacts — pieces
of the house’s ceilings, painted walls and family hearth;
fragments of 18th-century pottery and other ceramics; glass shards,
wig curlers and toothbrush handles made of bone. The cellars
constituted a time capsule of evidence that helped the archaeologists
confirm that they had indeed found the long-lost residence...
The archaeologists are particularly interested in a broken-off
bowl of a pipe, blackened inside from heavy use, that was typical
of the mid-18thcentury when George lived in the house. Found
in one of the cellars, the pipe bears a clear Masonic crest;
Washington joined the Fredericksburg Lodge of the Masons in 1753.

This is interesting…the MSM seems to think that the cordial
nature of today’s visit by President Bush to the Vatican
signals that he’s getting ready to swim the Tiber. They
point out that his brother already did, as did Tony Blair (and
as we all know, Blair is Bush’s lap dog /sarcasm). US President
George W. Bush arrived on Friday for a special audience with
Pope Benedict XVI, who is returning the hospitality he enjoyed
at the White House in April. Swiss Guards in their striped regalia
stood to attention as Bush stepped out of a black limousine with
his wife Laura and was warmly greeted by the head of the Roman
Catholic Church outside the medieval St John’s Tower. The
US leader could be heard exclaiming “what an honour”
as he clasped the pontiff’s hands in his. US Ambassador
to the Vatican Mary Ann Glendon, a Catholic, kissed the pontiff’s
hand. Bush and the pope then went into a tete-a-tete in the tower,
a venue reserved for illustrious guests instead of the usual
site for papal audiences, the pontiff’s private library.
The two, who also met at the Vatican last year, were later to
stroll in the secluded Vatican Gardens. Benedict’s trip
to the United States coincided with his 81st birthday, which
he celebrated in grand style at the White House on April 16,
when he was greeted with a 21-gun salute and some 13,500 well-wishers
filled the South Lawn. Bush “is a huge fan of the pope and
has full respect for him,” White House chief of protocol
Nancy Goodman Brinker said. The US leader “fully supports
the (Catholic) Church and fully supports everything this pope
is trying to do on behalf of peace, education and hunger in cooperation
with world political leaders,” she told the ANSA news agency.
- Bush, whose relations with pope John Paul II were strained
because of the US-led invasion of Iraq, feels closer to Benedict,
who appreciates the religious fervour of the president, a born-again
Protestant. The two see eye to eye on key social issues, as both
are staunch opponents of same-sex marriage, abortion and embryonic
stem-cell research, though they diverge notably on the death
penalty. Benedict has also voiced his concerns for the plight
of Christians in Iraq and over harsh CIA interrogation methods.
On Friday, the two leaders will pray before a statue of the
Madonna before bidding each other farewell. The Italian press
has been rife with speculation that Bush may convert to Catholicism
as his brother, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, did years ago, as
well as former British prime minister Tony Blair. The

News Agency) New York, Jun 1, 2008 / 02:03 pm (CNA).- Former
British prime minister Tony Blair, calling faith a possible "civilizing
force in globalization," has pledged to dedicate the rest
of his life to uniting the world's religions as his "faith
foundation" launched in New York on Friday.
Time magazine reports that the Tony Blair Faith Foundation will
attempt to foster cooperation among religions to address global
issues, such as those listed in the United Nations' eight Millennium
Development Goals. The goals include eradicating extreme poverty
and securing environmental sustainability.
Combating the spread of malaria will be among foundation's first
priorities.
"If you got churches and mosques and those of the Jewish
faith working together to provide the bed nets that are necessary
to eliminate malaria, what a fantastic thing that would be,"
Blair said."That would show faith in action, it would show
the importance of cooperation between faiths, and it would show
what faith can do for progress."
Blair, who recently converted to Catholicism, said it was possible
to achieve a "greater understanding" between religious
faiths to support common action on global problems.
Speaking of the place of his faith during his time as prime minister,
Blair told Time magazine "You don't put a hotline up to
God and get the answers" and "What faith can do is
not tell you what is right but give you the strength to do it."
At present Blair is an envoy to the Middle East for the United
Nations, the U.S., the E.U., and Russia. He also consults for
the insurer Zurich and the bank JP Morgan, and has recently sold
his memoirs for millions of dollars.

Benedict says U.S. immorality is partly to blame for pedophile
priests, and that the church is the answer.
During his recent visit to America, Pope Benedict xvi wasted
no time confronting the pedophile sex scandal issue that has
estranged American Catholics from the Vatican hierarchy. On the
flight from Italy to the United States the pope made a promise
to absolutely exclude pedophiles from the sacred ministry. It
was not until the next day, however, that he got specific as

- "... Well-known evangelist Billy Graham has joined hands
with the Roman Catholic Church in his crusades for decades. Instead
of exposing Rome's apostasy and warning people to flee from its
cursed sacramental gospel, he has encouraged seekers to attend
"the churches of their choice." Thousands who have
come forward at his meetings have been sent back into the darkness
of Catholicism. As early as 1952, Graham was quoted by the Pittsburgh
Sun-Telegraph as saying, "Many of the people who have reached
a decision for Christ at our meetings have joined the Catholic
Church and we have received commendations from Catholic publications
for the revived interest in their church following one of our
campaigns." By 1979, Graham's practice of sending his converts
to the "church of their choice" was reaping big rewards
for Rome. Following Graham's Milwaukee crusade, 3,500 decision
cards were given to the Catholic archdiocese for follow-up, the
first step of which was a special Mass held in celebration of
the "coming home" of these wayward Catholics. Frequently
Graham has honored Catholic priests and bishops by having them
appear on the platform in his crusades At a 1962 meeting in Sao
Paulo, Brazil, Graham allowed a Catholic bishop to stand on the
platform and "bless" those coming forward at the end
of the service. Graham has met privately with John Paul II on
at least three occasions and has spoken highly of him, calling
him a great evangelist. When Time magazine made John Paul II
the 1994 "Man of the Year," Graham stated, "He's
been the strong conscience of the whole Christian world."
Graham has also praised Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul VI.
Graham's ecumenical interludes with Rome have set the mood for
an entire generation of Evangelicals. By March 1994, a group
of prominent Evangelical leaders joined hands with Catholic priests
and others to produce a document entitled "Evangelicals
and Catholics Together." Chuck Colson, Bill Bright, J.I.
Packer, Pat Robertson, and several other well-known men proclaimed,
"We together, Evangelicals and Catholics, confess our sins
against the unity that Christ intends for all his disciples."

conservative causes, in the teeth of all evidence and in defiance
of all flagrant hypocrisy? John Gorenfeld in Bad Moon Rising
chronicles the rise of a pseudo-Messiah to the point of fooling
a brace of senators and congressmen into crowning him "King
of Peace" at the Senate Dirksen Building in 2004, in a wide-ranging
account that moves back and forth from Moon's early years in
Korea in the 1950s to his dotage claiming imaginary converts
from among the ranks of dead U.S. presidents. This is the story
of a man who would not be deterred, even by his failure to live
up to his own teachings, from aspiring to the title of "King
of Kings" and leader of all the world. The fact that he
must make this claim by subterfuge, by staging events that appear
to mean one thing to the general public but another to his own

Messiah.
- If I was to fault this important book in any way, it would
be for minor errors of fact. I was a member of Moon's Unification
Church from 1976 to 1986, so I know what I'm talking about. In
particular, Gorenfeld's claim on page 13, which he repeats on
page 75, that the American branch of the Unification Church reached
a "one-time peak of thirty thousand members" is simply
untrue. The 30,000 figure was a goal that I often heard the members
being urged to attain in the late 1970s, when achieving that
level of membership was considered crucial to Moon's success
in America. When this goal could not be reached, members took
to claiming that it had anyway by including people who had merely
attended a Moon-inspired lecture or shown mild interest in the
ideas of the "True Father". In truth, even at its peak,
the Moon movement likely never exceeded 5,000 full-time, committed
members in America... This book deserves 5 stars because it exposes
the heinous influence of a rarely acknowledged foreign influence
upon American politics -- one which has provided bottomles cash
contributions to conservative causes, and which has in consequence
helped to puff up the hubris of the Bush presidency to the point
where it may fairly be likened to the Roman imperium.

the world to complete the work of Jesus Christ. In 2004, Moon
was the center of a coronation ceremony in Washington at which

from handing out Bible extracts by police because they were in
a Muslim area, it was claimed yesterday. They say they were told
by a Muslim police community support officer that they could
not preach there and that attempting to convert Muslims to Christianity
was a hate crime.
- The community officer is also said to have told the two men:
‘You have been warned. If you come back here and get beat
up, well, you have been warned.’
- A police constable who was present during the incident in
the Alum Rock area of Birmingham is also alleged to have told
the preachers not to return to the district. It comes amid growing
concern over the development of Islamic ‘no-go areas’.
The preachers, Americans Arthur Cunningham and Joseph Abraham,
are demanding an apology and compensation from West Midlands
Police. They say their treatment breaks the Human Rights Act,
which guarantees freedom of religious expression. The preachers,
who have the backing of the Christian Institute pressure group,
say they will take the force to court for breaching their human
rights if they don’t receive an apology. They have accused
the officer, PCSO Naeem Naguthney, of behaving in an ‘aggressive
and threatening’ manner. A complaint by their lawyers said
he interrupted as they spoke to Muslim youths about their beliefs.
Mr Abraham, 65, who was born a Muslim in Egypt and is a convert
to Christianity, said: ‘He told us we were trying to convert
Muslims to Christianity and that that was a hate crime.

the controversial The Bible Speaks church in Lenox, and later
the Greater Grace World Outreach in Baltimore, died Tuesday of
congestive heart failure. He was 78. After a $5.5 million lawsuit
prompted Stevens to leave The Bible Speaks’ sprawling campus
on Kemble Street in Lenox, he formed Greater Grace, which lists
more than 25 affiliated churches nationwide, including one in
Lee. Stevens’ ministry was marked by controversy, with former
members alleging on Internet sites that the church practiced
mind control, sexual misconduct, child molestation, fraud and
extortion. In 1987, 11 years after Stevens brought the Bible
Speaks to Lenox, a court ordered the pastor to repay a Lenox
woman $6.5 million that he had persuaded her to donate to his
ministry. The suit accused Stevens of deceit. The amount was
reduced to $5.5 million on appeal. Despite the controversy, Steve
Andrulonis, an assistant pastor and spokesman for Greater Grace,
said in a phone interview yesterday that Stevens will be remembered
as a man of honesty and conviction. “He stirred things up

- AMERICA'S PROTESTANT BUT NOT “CHRISTIAN" FOUNDING
Jonathan Rowe on April 20th 2008 - Can something qualify as “Protestant”
but not “Christian”? Arguably yes. I see America’s
Founding as a “Protestant” event, but not necessarily
a “Christian” one, if Christianity defines according
to its Trinitarian orthodoxy as evangelicals and Catholics believe.
If Christianity defines in a broader, more theologically liberal
sense, then I can see America as founded on Protestant Christian
theology. Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson were, in my opinion,
more likely to identify as or understand themselves “Protestant
Christians,” not Deists. To Jefferson such “Protestant
Christianity” rejected the following:
- The immaculate conception of Jesus, his deification, the
creation of the world by him, his miraculous powers, his resurrection
and visible ascension, his corporeal presence in the Eucharist,
the Trinity; original sin, atonement, regeneration, election,
orders of Hierarchy, &c. The million dollar question is can
such a system that rejects “[t]he immaculate conception
of Jesus, his deification, the creation of the world by him,
his miraculous powers, his resurrection and visible ascension…the
Trinity; original sin, atonement, regeneration…,” aptly
be termed “Christian.” I put ellipses under two tenets
of Catholicism, and one of Calvinism, that aren’t necessarily
part of orthodox Christianity. The rest of what Jefferson rejected
are non-negotiable tenets of orthodox Christianity.
- Yet, Jefferson was being very “Protestant” in doing
so. Protestantism means to protest or dissent, not to be ruled
by Church hierarchy or creeds. It was in this respect that Protestantism
paved the way for religious and political liberty, enlightenment,
and the consequent rejection of Christian orthodoxy. The latter
is a point that Roman Catholic critics of Protestantism have
long made. Even though evangelicals and Catholics agree on Trinitarian
orthodoxy, by putting the Bible and the proper way to understand
the Christian religion in the hands of individual ministers and
believers themselves, (as opposed to Church hierarchy) what stops
the individual from jettisoning Trinitarian orthodoxy?
- It could be sola-scriptura. However, 1) some liberal Protestants
like America’s key Founders rejected sola-scriptura. And
2) other liberal Protestants of the Founding era used sola-scriptura
to reject Trinitarian orthodoxy. In The Democratization of American

the most influential preachers who argued on behalf of the American

- CATHOLIC CHURCH LOSING GROUND: ISLAM NOW WORLD'S LARGEST

- L'Osservatore Romano reported at the end of March that there
are now more Muslims in the world than Catholics. Monsignor Vittorio
Formenti, the compiler of the Vatican Yearbook, said, "For
the first time in history, we are no longer at the top. The Muslims
have overtaken us." According to Msgr. Formenti's statistics,
Catholics accounted for 17.4 per cent of the world population,
while Muslims were at 19.2 per cent. The disturbing truth underlying
these figures is that the Catholic numbers have held steady for
some years, while the number of Muslims is growing rapidly. Said
Msgr. Formenti, "It is true that while Muslim families,
as is well known, continue to make a lot of children, Christian
ones on the contrary tend to have fewer and fewer." This
reflects widespread disobedience to the Church's clear teachings
on contraception and abortion. In fact some of the "Christian"
nations with the lowest birthrates are the so-called "Catholic"
countries. Msgr. Formenti also stated that, adding in the adherents
to other Christian "churches", Christians make up 33
per cent of the world population. This means that Catholics now
account for just over half of all people calling themselves "Christians".
This shows the failure of the Church to counter the inroads of
Protestant sects, particularly in Latin America. This is the
fruit of the false ecumenism preached by the likes of Cardinal
Kasper. The Catholic Church is no longer willing to proselytize

Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons Now Fastest-Growing in U.S.A.-
According to the National Council of Churches' 2008 Yearbook
of American & Canadian Churches, the two fastest-growing
"churches" in the United States and Canada are ones
whose beliefs are plainly heretical. Jehovah's Witnesses and
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons), regarded
by the Catholic Church as cults, showed the largest membership
increases in the last year. The Jehovah's Witnesses, 25th in
size, grew by 2.25% to over a million members. The Mormons claimed
5,779,316 adherents and ranked fourth in size, behind the Roman
Catholic Church, the Southern Baptists and the United Methodists.
Their growth rate was 1.56%. Not only the Catholic Church, but
most other Christian groups, reject both Jehovah's Witnesses
and Mormons as part of the Body of Christ. The Jehovah's Witnesses
reject the Holy Trinity, while the Latter-Day Saints believe
in the Book of Mormon and their other "holy" books
as being of greater authority than the Holy Bible.
- While the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses were posting large
increases, membership in the Roman Catholic Church increased
by just 0.87%. That there was any increase at all is due largely
to immigration from Latin America. Liberal Protestant "churches",
such as the Episcopalians (Anglicans), Lutherans and Presbyterians,
saw large losses in membership. These denominations are currently
wracked by theological differences and controversies regarding
homosexuality, gay marriage and abortion. Only three of the top
10 largest churches listed in the Yearbook are "mainstream"
Protestant churches. Three of the top 25 are Pentecostal churches;

Fellowship wrote a letter to pastors and church leaders in the
New York region, announcing his Harvest Crusade 2008 in New York
City on October 19th. This letter to pastors and leaders is causing
confusion among some because of its content, and this Lighthouse
Trails report will examine this issue. Greg Laurie is best known
as a Calvary Chapel pastor. His church is listed on the Calvary
Chapel website, and Laurie often speaks at Calvary Chapel functions.
And it is Laurie's connection with Calvary Chapel that presents
a great dilemma.
- Two years ago, in May of 2006, Calvary Chapel issued a "Parson
to Parson" letter, in which a statement was made against
the emerging church and contemplative spirituality. The following
month, at the 2006 Senior Pastor's Conference, Calvary Chapel
founder and pastor, Chuck Smith, told the senior pastors that
Calvary Chapel as a whole was rejecting various movements and
practices that have been taking place within the Christian church
at large as well as in some Calvary Chapel churches. According
to a number of pastors in attendance, who afterwards spoke with
Lighthouse Trails, Smith asked that those Calvary Chapel pastors
who were going in the direction of the emerging church would
no longer call themselves Calvary Chapel churches. One week later,
Calvary Chapel instructed its distribution center to immediately
remove all of Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Life books from its
center. The statement read: "The teaching and positions
of Rick Warren have come into conflict with us at Calvary Chapel.
Pastor Chuck has directed us to discontinue this product effective
immediately."

While its authors claim to trust the Bible, they flout God's
warnings. They claim to exclude no one, yet they redefine and
"repudiate" fundamentalists. They claim to speak for
themselves, but their message demands global transformation and
prophesies disaster if not obeyed. They claim to follow "the
narrow way," but they call for a broad, interfaith "framework"
(new rules) for participating in the "public square"
without offending anyone. By whose authority did the steering

Though it tells us that the Gospel freed us from legalism, it
imposes man's rules and restrictions on God's people! That's

Good" in a Pluralistic world? The list of names on the Manifesto's
Steering Committee and its "Charter Signatories" suggests
that this document is a collective effort of Evangelical leaders.
But the primary author seems to be Os Guinness. His 2008 book,
The Case for Civility: And Why Our Future Depends on It, is simply
a more detailed version of the Manifesto's agenda. We find countless
repetitions of phrases such as "common good" in both
book and Manifesto.
- This "common good" must be negotiated in a "Public
Square" -- a global arena where people share their views.
To keep their debates "civil," they must learn to appreciate
pluralism and seek a "common life" compatible with
all beliefs and lifestyles. Peace and unity must be forged through
a collective "framework" that provides the social rules
for "living together with our deepest differences."
The Manifesto summarizes the challenge:"...what we as Evangelicals
lament in the culture warring is not just the general collapse
of the common vision of the common good, but the endless conflict
over the proper place of faiths in public life, and therefore
of the freedom to enter and engage public life from the perspective
of faith. A grand confusion now reigns as to any guiding principles...."[1,p.16]

- SERIOUS CONCERNS FOR FOCUS ON THE FAMILY'S MARRIAGE CONFERENCE
Gary Thomas tells readers to repeat a word for 20 minutes and
points them to a tantric sex advocate, but still Focus on the
Family keeps Thomas for speaking and for his books. On February
28, 2009, Focus on the Family will present to churches across
North America the "Focus
on Marriage" conference in a "LIVE simulcast."
Focus has invited Gary Thomas to help train married couples attending
the event. Thomas, also strongly promoted by Rick Warren, has
several popular books covering topics such as marriage, parenting,
and spirituality. Unfortunately, he is a proponent of contemplative
prayer. In his book, Sacred Pathways, Thomas instructs readers:
It is particularly difficult to describe this type of prayer
in writing, as it is best taught in person. In general however,
centering prayer works like this: Choose a word (Jesus or Father,
for example) as a focus for contemplative prayer. Repeat the
word silently in your mind for a set amount of time (say, twenty
minutes) until your heart seems to be repeating the word by itself,
just as naturally and involuntarily as breathing. (p. 185)

propensities take him (and readers) into an area that could have
significant ramifications on countless families. In his book
Sacred Marriage (a book that Focus on the Family stands by and
sells
on their website), Thomas introduces readers to a woman named
Mary Anne McPherson Oliver and to her book Conjugal
Spirituality.Thomas favorably references Oliver several times
throughout Sacred Marriage and also references Oliver on his
website in a Sacred Marriage study guide. Who is Mary Anne McPherson
Oliver and why should Christians be concerned about Gary Thomas'
promotion of this woman's book, Conjugal Spirituality? On the
back of Oliver's book, it states that "[r]eligious practice
as we know it today remains, in effect, 'celibate.' Mary Anne
Oliver proposes an alternative ... she examines the spiritual

- HOLY LAUGHTER OR STRONG DELUSION
- Several years ago, Warren Smith, author of Deceived on Purpose,
wrote an article about the Holy Laughter movement. Because of
what is taking place at the Todd Bentley "revival,"
we are presenting Smith's article. "Holy Laughter or Strong
Delusion" by Warren Smith - I watched the video again. It
was entitled Signs and Wonders Camp meeting 1994. Pastors of
huge charismatic churches were stumbling around the church stage
"drunk" with "holy" laughter. Wanting to
testify to the fact that "holy" laughter had transformed
their ministries and their lives, many of them were unable to
speak when called on to do so. But their "drunken"
condition became their testimony. Their halting speech was seen
as "proof" of the "power of the spirit" that
had come over them. The congregation roared in approval as pastor
after pastor laughed uncontrollably and then fell to the floor.
Standing alongside the "drunken" pastors was evangelist
Rodney Howard-Browne, the self described "Holy Ghost bartender"
who was serving up this "new wine" of "holy"
laughter. Many Christians today believe that Howard-Browne is
God's appointed channel for imparting joy and revival to the
end-times church. Other Christians see Howard-Browne as a false
prophet who is inflicting great damage to the body of Christ....

Vineyard congregation I was told how hundreds of people were
getting "hit" with "revival"--how some people
were getting so "soaked in the spirit" they would lose
consciousness for up to several hours after falling to the ground

is defined in one of two ways. The first being the most common

- My first real concern with these crusades revolves around
the issue of who Todd Bentley looks up to and who he considers
spiritual leaders. He frequently mentions, and even has up on
stage with him from time to time, members of the "Kansas
City Prophets." And the KC "prophets" are, in
many ways, an extension of the Latter Rain movement that really
found its legs through the ministry of a man named William Branham.
Although Branham didn’t found the movement, he was instrumental
in popularizing many aspects of it. This article will not go
into detail concerning Branham and his ministry except to say
that he was a preacher who ministered primarily in the 40’s
and 50’s. He was a forerunner to many of the “healing
evangelists” of today in that he would call out words of
knowledge concerning the private lives of audience members, as
well as pray for the sick to be healed, all with astonishing
results. Interestingly, he would often tell the audience wherever
he was ministering that he had to wait for his angel to appear
before he could give any “words” or work any healings.
This will be an important point that surfaces later in our discussion.
But let’s stop right here and ask the question: Does God
ask His people to look to angels or to Himself for any need?
He tells us it is by His Spirit, and not angels, that He operates
in words of knowledge, gifts of healings, and the like (I Corinthians

- Week Long Military Urban Warfare Drills Hijack Denver Streets
in Preparation for Terror
- Asking people about the un-marked, black military helicopters
in the streets of Downtown Denver were no longer met with blank
stares and scoffs, but with finger pointing and wild eyed expressions
of dis-belief earlier today. Special operation forces have been
conducting landings, and maneuvers inside the downtown city limits
of the mile high city for the past 2 days. According to the (AP)
these exercises will be ongoing until Friday. MacDill Air Force
Base, Fla.-based U.S. Special Operations Command spokesman Lt.
Steve Ruh says the flights are a culmination of a two-week training
exercise that is part of the “war on terror.” One official
told KDVR-TV the flights are not security preparations for the
Democratic National Convention in August. These exercises have
been conducted at multiple locations throughout the city. Two
major staging grounds are a large abandoned rubber factory on
the south side of Denver, and also the former Children’s
hospital at Downey and 21st street. These facilities have been
placed under military control with the blessing of the city according
to Lt. Ruh spokesperson for the unnamed branch of the military

has claimed that there was a nuclear explosion near the epicenter
of the Sichuan earthquake, based on witness reports and the discovery
of concrete rubble believed to have come from an underground
military installation. The news of this nuclear explosion has
raised questions about the cause of the earthquake. Mr. He, a
local resident, stated that when the earthquake occurred on May
12, people saw something erupt from the top of a mountain next
to the valley, "It looked like toothpaste being squeezed
out," said He. "No, it wasn't [magma]. It was these
concrete pieces. The eruption lasted about three minutes."
- According to a China News Services (CNS) report on May 31,
2008, paramedics from People's Liberation Army (PLA) hospitals
and psychologists from Beijing onsite May 23 found concrete debris
at the bottom of a valley near the epicenter. The half-mile-wide
valley was covered with debris 10 - 20 inches thick, covering
the valley floor for almost 1.5 miles. No major construction
was occurring in the area at the time of the earthquake.

used in China's underground military bases, according to Boxun's
expert. He explained that while there are documented cases that

- DOOMSDAY FEARS SPARK LAWSUIT
- The builders of the world's biggest particle collider are
being sued in federal court over fears that the experiment might
create globe-gobbling black holes or never-before-seen strains
of matter that would destroy the planet.
- Representatives at Fermilab in Illinois and at Europe's CERN
laboratory, two of the defendants in the case, say there's no
chance that the Large Hadron Collider would cause such cosmic
catastrophes. Nevertheless, they're bracing to defend themselves
in the courtroom as well as the court of public opinion.
- The Large Hadron Collider, or LHC, is due for startup later
this year at CERN's headquarters on the French-Swiss border.
It's expected to tackle some of the deepest questions in science:
Is the foundation of modern physics right or wrong? What existed
during the very first moment of the universe's existence? Why
do some particles have mass while others don't? What is the nature
of dark matter? Are there extra dimensions of space out there
that we haven't yet detected?
- Some folks outside the scientific mainstream have asked darker
questions as well: Could the collider create mini-black holes
that last long enough and get big enough to turn into a matter-sucking
maelstrom? Could exotic particles known as magnetic monopoles
throw atomic nuclei out of whack? Could quarks recombine into
"strangelets" that would turn the whole Earth into
one big lump of exotic matter?
- Former nuclear safety officer Walter Wagner has been raising
such questions for years - first about an earlier-generation
"big bang machine" known as the Relativistic Heavy-Ion
Collider, and more recently about the LHC.
- Last Friday, Wagner and another critic of the LHC's safety
measures, Luis Sancho, filed a lawsuit in Hawaii's U.S. District
Court. The suit calls on the U.S. Department of Energy, Fermilab,
the National Science Foundation and CERN to ease up on their
LHC preparations for several months while the collider's safety
was reassessed.
- "We're going to need a minimum of four months to review
whatever they're putting out," Wagner told me on Monday.
The suit seeks a temporary restraining order that would put the
LHC on hold, pending the release and review of an updated CERN
safety assessment. It also calls on the U.S. government to do
a full environmental review addressing the LHC project, including
the debate over the doomsday scenario.
- On Monday, District Judge Helen Gillmor assigned the case
to a magistrate judge, Kevin S.C. Chang, for an initial conference
on June 16. Wagner said he planned to ask for a more immediate

of radio waves up into the ionosphere where they are then bounced
back down to the earth.
- So, what can this HAARP now do? It can recreate chemicals.
It can recreate ozone. That part doesn’t sound so bad because
our planet’s ozone layer is being depleted. It can also
control EMPS (Electro Magnetic Pulses). This is really not good
because EPS can take out the power grid and I believe this is
one of the New World Order boys’ plans to help reduce the
population of this planet. Remember, a part of their plan is
to decrease the population down to only 20% of what it is now.

- Bush wants 50 military bases, control of Iraqi airspace and
legal immunity for all American soldiers and contractors... A
secret deal being negotiated in Baghdad would perpetuate the
American military occupation of Iraq indefinitely, regardless
of the outcome of the US presidential election in November. The
terms of the impending deal, details of which have been leaked
to The Independent, are likely to have an explosive political
effect in Iraq. Iraqi officials fear that the accord, under which
US troops would occupy permanent bases, conduct military operations,
arrest Iraqis and enjoy immunity from Iraqi law, will destab-
ilise Iraq's position in the Middle East and lay the basis for
unending conflict in their country.
- But the accord also threatens to provoke a political crisis
in the US. President Bush wants to push it through by the end
of next month so he can declare a military victory and claim
his 2003 invasion has been vindicated. But by perpetuating the
US presence in Iraq, the long-term settlement would undercut
pledges by the Democratic presidential nominee, Barack Obama,
to withdraw US troops if he is elected president in November.
- The timing of the agreement would also boost the Republican
candidate, John McCain, who has claimed the United States is
on the verge of victory in Iraq - a victory that he says Mr.
Obama would throw away by a premature military withdrawal. America
currently has 151,000 troops in Iraq and, even after projected
withdrawals next month, troop levels will stand at more than
142,000 - 10 000 more than when the military "surge"
began in January 2007. Under the terms of the new treaty, the
Americans would retain the long-term use of more than 50 bases
in Iraq. American negotiators are also demanding immunity from
Iraqi law for US troops and contractors, and a free hand to carry
out arrests and conduct military activities in Iraq without consulting
the Baghdad government.
- The precise nature of the American demands has been kept
secret until now. The leaks are certain to generate an angry
backlash in Iraq. "It is a terrible breach of our sovereignty,"
said one Iraqi politician, adding that if the security deal was
signed it would delegitimise the government in Baghdad which
will be seen as an American pawn. The US has repeatedly denied
it wants permanent bases in Iraq but one Iraqi source said: "This
is just a tactical subterfuge." Washington also wants control
of Iraqi airspace below 29,000ft and the right to pursue its
"war on terror" in Iraq, giving it the authority to
arrest anybody it wants and to launch military camp- aigns without
consultation.
- Mr Bush is determined to force the Iraqi government to sign
the so-called "strategic alliance" without modi- fications,
by the end of next month. But it is already being condemned by
the Iranians and many Arabs as a continuing American attempt
to dominate the region. Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the powerful
and usually moderate Iranian leader, said yesterday that such
a deal would create "a permanent occupation". He added:
"The essence of this agreement is to turn the Iraqis into
slaves of the Americans." Iraq's Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki,
is believed to be personally opposed to the terms of the new
pact but feels his coalition government cannot stay in power
without US backing.
- The deal also risks exacerbating the proxy war being fought
between Iran and the United States over who should be more influential
in Iraq. Although Iraqi ministers have said they will reject
any agreement limiting Iraqi sovereignty, political observers
in Baghdad suspect they will sign in the end and simply want
to establish their credentials as defenders of Iraqi independence
by a show of defiance now. The one Iraqi with the authority to
stop deal is the majority Shia spiritual leader, Grand Ayatollah
Ali al- Sistani. In 2003, he forced the US to agree to a referen-
dum on the new Iraqi constitution and the election of a parliament.
But he is said to believe that loss of US support would drastically
weaken the Iraqi Shia, who won a majority in parliament in elections
in 2005.
- The US is adamantly against the new security agreement being
put to a referendum in Iraq, suspecting that it would be voted
down. The influential Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has called
on his followers to demonstrate every Friday against the impending
agreement on the grounds that it compromises Iraqi independence.
The Iraqi government wants to delay the actual signing of the
agreement but the office of Vice-President Dick Cheney has been
trying to force it through. The US ambassador in Baghdad, Ryan
Crocker, has spent weeks trying to secure the accord. The signature
of a security agreement, and a parallel deal providing a legal
basis for keeping US troops in Iraq, is unlikely to be accepted
by most Iraqis. But the Kurds, who make up a fifth of the population,
will probably favour a continuing American presence, as will
Sunni Arab political leaders who want US forces to dilute the
power of the Shia. The Sunni Arab community, which has broadly
supported a guerrilla war against US occupation, is likely to

- MARINES BRINGING COMBAT TRAINING TO INDY

land at the old Eastgate Consumer Mall, Brookside Park and other
Indianapolis locations when the city becomes a mock battlefield
next week. About 2,300 Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary
Unit, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C., will conduct urban warfare
training from Wednesday through June 19 in and around Indianapolis.
Most of the troops will be deployed at the Indiana State Fairgrounds
and the Raytheon facility on Holt Road, said Debbi Fletcher of
the Indianapolis/ Marion County Emergency Management Agency.
“We don’t want anyone thinking that there’s an
invasion happening or that we declared martial law or something
like that,” Fletcher said. The Marines have been cleared
by state, federal and local authorities, Fletcher said. The unit’s
commander promised to try to keep noise to a minimum and give
neighbors plenty of warning. “Our aim in Indianapolis is

warning to get ready for the largest earthquake drill in U.S.
history. "Prepare yourself for shaking that is bigger and

California," Kenneth Hudnut, a geophysicist with the U.S.
Geological Survey, said Wednesday. He and other scientists stood
before a packed Caltech auditorium to discuss the prospect of
a 7.8-magnitude quake that could begin near the Salton Sea and
surge northward along the San Andreas fault. The possibility
of a major quake along the San Andreas, aka "The Big One,"
is an idea that can lurk in the back of Southern Californians'
minds but scientists have yet to develop the knowledge to predict
when such a disaster will occur. But people can plan an earthquake
drill, and one called the "Great Southern California ShakeOut"
is scheduled for Nov. 13.

nations should be guided towards the superstate without their

by successive steps, each disguised as having an economic purpose,

fate of nearly 500 million people will be decided by a country
whose population totals only 4.2 million. The people of the Republic
Of Ireland will be the only `citizens` of the European Union
given the opportunity to have their say on what is potentially
the most fundamental piece of legislation in the history of the
`Old Continent`. All the other member states have simply ignored
the wishes of their people and left ratification to be `rubber
stamped` by their respective parliaments. However, it is necessary
for all twenty seven member states to complete ratification before
the `Treaty` becomes legally binding.
- So, if the Irish vote is `NO` then the treaty will not be
able to be implemented, at least for the present. But, if the
Irish people swallow the massive `Pro Treaty` propaganda and
vote `Yes`, then the fate of, and inevitable demise of the Nation
States of Europe will be sealed. There will be no more serious
obstacles left to Federalisation. The long dreamed of (by the
Federalists that is) United States Of Europe will become a reality.
- Many, if not the majority of people on both sides of the
Atlantic have been `duped` for decades into believing that the
EEC/EU is about a `free trade` zone. This is not at all the case,
as the above quote by Monsieur Monet illustrates very clearly.
So what are the ramifications of a `Yes` vote by the Irish.
- The European Union was founded on lies and deceit at the
very highest levels of government. This trail of deception has
continued since, and on Thursday 13th December 2007 stopped momentarily
in Lisbon Portugal, where the `dignitaries` of the member states
of this `trading bloc` signed the `EU Reform Treaty`. This `Treaty`
replaces the EU Constitution rejected in 2005 by both France
and the Netherlands. Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor and
the former French President `Giscard D`Estaing are among many
European ministers who have confirmed that the `Treaty` is but
the Constitution by another name. The only differentials being
the dropping from the new document those articles relating to
the EU Flag, Anthem and Motto. Yet only two days prior to the
`Historic event` in Lisbon, sixteen member states `broke cover`
and called for an amendment to the `Treaty `and the reinstatement
of these three articles, thereby transforming the `Treaty` into
the original Constitution. They also want to impose the `single
currency` on all those member states still retaining their `indigenous`
currencies and are suggesting that a `Europe Day` become a holiday

in ‘08 - An increasing number of bloggers are being arrested
for criticizing governments and exposing human rights abuse,
according to a report from the University of Washington. Since
2003, 64 citizens have been arrested for expressing their views
on a blog. In 2007 three times as many people were arrested for
blogging about political issues than in 2006. Over half of the
arrests in the last five years were made in China, Egypt and
Iran. The report said the increasing number of arrests was evidence
of the "growing" political importance of blogging.
It found that arrests typically increase in times of "political
uncertainty," like elections or large protests. Many bloggers
faced jail time after being arrested. The average prison sentence
for blogging was 15 months. The longest sentence was eight years.
The actual number of bloggers who are arrested is probably higher,
since many arrests in China, Zimbabwe, and Iran are not reported.

about 344 people arrested in Burma, some who are thought to be

Senator Christopher Dodd's 630-page Senate housing legislation
is a sweeping provision that affects the privacy and operation
of nearly all of America's small businesses. The provision, which
was added by the bill's managers without debate this week, would
