- Addressing Israel (the Jews) Daniel Chapter 12 states:
- "And at that time
shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the
children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble,
such as never was since there was a nation even to that same
time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered,
every one that shall be found written in the book. And many
of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
- "And they that
be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they
that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever
and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the
book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro,
and knowledge shall be increased. Then I Daniel looked,
and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the
bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of
the river.
- "And one said
to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the
river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? And
I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of
the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto
heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be
for a time, times, and an half (3.5 yrs); and when he
shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people,
all these things shall be finished.
- "And I heard,
but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the
end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the
words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many
shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked
shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but
the wise shall understand. And from the time that the daily
sacrifice shall be taken away (the third temple will
be rebuilt), and the abomination that maketh desolate set
up (the middle of the Tribulation), there shall be a thousand
two hundred and ninety days (3.5 Years into the Tribulation)
Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three
hundred and five and thirty days (end of the Tribulation when
Jesus returns to the Mount of Olives and redeems the remnant).
But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and
stand in thy lot at the end of the days. (KJV Daniel 12:1-13

- We believe every word in the KJV Bible and believe it is
the Word of God and that Jesus is the Christ, God Himself, who
spilled His blood on the cross for our sins and rose again to
prepare a place for those who repent and accept 'His' righteousness
as their righteousness and repent. They are those who accept
Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, Jews first and then Gentiles.
"Behold, I stand at the door,
and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will
come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

- MORE GREETINGS to all and the newcomers to this list. We'd
like to introduce ourselves. George and Rita Williams founded
this ministry. We were Mormons (Temple Mormons) for 20 years.
We prayed to God in 1992 to allow us to do a ministry speaking
out against Scientology. Six months later God led us to the truth:
out of the cult of Mormonism. We did not know at the time we
were in a cult. No-one had witnessed to us in 20 years.
- The Holy Spirit brought us to information about all the cults
and the present development of the New World Order. We began
bringing our research to you. Because all the research was already
done, we decided to build a library within Cephas Ministry. Our
newsletters are not designed to provoke
anger which is strictly prohibited in Scripture. It is to shed
light on activities by those who would deceive those who are
recorded in the Book of Life by devious methods and systematic
plans.
- We are Bible students and have left all worldly organizations.
We attend church if the message is from the authorized KJV Bible.
The focus of these newsletters is to prove why we had to leave
the world system. We are called 'Watchmen on the Wall' which
God always had during the Old / New Testament Times.
- To understand what is happening, one has to know the Bible
to compare notes.
- The first section is about the church.
The news about churches is unedited unless indicated by Ednotes.
The church as we knew it, is undergoing disintegration. This
began on a fast track in the early nineteen sixties when the
Catholic Church produced liberal Vatican II to replace Vatican
I.
- The trend since then has been ecumenical which is truly what
the word 'Catholicism' means: a universal religion all
inclusive and multicultural. The Bible calls for a final church
and today's church doesn't resemble what Jesus taught. The Word
of God has undergone many changes to fit the progressive modes.
Many new Bible tranlations have brought confusion. The Bible
calls for a falling away from the truth before
Jesus comes back for His Bride. The true believers are called
'Ekklesia.' Our newsletters prove this fact and prove that the
Bible is true from beginning to end.
- The second section is about globalism
where we bring your attention to the social, political and global
trend, the so called democratizing what is left of the world.
This is a deception since the underlying new world global government
is developed by implementing sustainable development. The
Bible prophesies that there will be ten kings (ten horns), each
king (horn) will receive a region of the world as a reward for
work well done for the Antichrist. This is the reason for the
present development of NAU (The North American Union) as well
as the war in the Middle East. It again proves that we are moving
to closure of the times of the Gentiles prophesied in the Bible.
The end result will not be Democracy but a form of Fascist Communism
(Public/Private Corporations enslaving mankind).
- The third section compliments End Time
teachings because Israel is the time piece of the Biblical Prophecy.
1948 was the beginning of the figtree representing Israel, coming
back to life. Israel was allowed to return to its land. Israel
is the rock upon which the world stumbles and crumbles. We watch
and visit Israel for signs which point to the Tribulation to
confirm that we are moving into that space of time.
- Watchmen on the wall do not solicit memberships. We have
an email group that gets information when we upload new information
and newsletters whenever it is possible time wise. We love the
Lord with all our hearts and minds and we love all people God
has created but especially those who love our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ. Our Mission and Statement of Faith are at http://www.cephasministry.com/statement_of_faith.html

SCRIPTURE STUDY - GODS
THOUGHTS VS. MANS
- For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are
your ways my ways, saith the LORD (Isaiah 55:8). Consider
some of the ways that this is true.
- As for beauty, man thinks it is glorious, but God
says it is vain (Proverbs 31:30).
- As for riches, man thinks they are greatly to be desired
and praised, but God says the love of money is the root of all
evil (1 Timothy 6:10) and riches certainly make themselves
wings; they fly away (Proverbs 23:5).
- As for men of high degree, man thinks they are impressive,
but God says men of high degree are a lie (Psalm
62:9).
- As for the prosperity of the wicked, man thinks it
is desirable and fascinating, but God says it is foolish and
casts men into destruction (Psalm 73:18).
- As for trouble, man thinks it is a nuisance, but God
says it brings men to repentance (Psa. 119:67, 71) and spiritual
growth (Romans 5-5).
- As for military might, man trusts in it, but God says
safety is of the Lord (Proverbs 21:31). As for poverty, man thinks
it is to be avoided at all costs, but God says it can be better
than riches (Proverbs 15:16-17; 19:1; James 2:5).
- As for children, man thinks they are a burden, but
God says children are a heritage from the Lord and happy is the
man that hath his quiver full of them (Psalm 127).
- As for evolutionary theory, man thinks it is brilliant
science, but God says it is the vain babblings of science
falsely so called (1 Timothy 6:20).
- As for foolish laughter and filthy jesting, man thinks
it is fun and cool, but God says it is vanity (Ecc. 7:5-6) and
brings His wrath (Ephesians 5:4-6).
- As for self-promotion and self-praise, man thinks it is
wise, but God says, whosoever shall exalt himself shall
be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted
(Matthew 23:12), and, Let another man praise thee, and
not thine own mouth (Proverbs 27:2).
- As for the pride of life, man thinks it is commendable,
but God says it is of the devil and will pass away (1 Timothy
3:6; 1 John 2:15-17).
- As for religious harmony, man thinks it is expedient,
but God says Christ has no part with Belial (2 Corinthians 6:14-15).
- As for human nature, man thinks it is basically good,
but God says there is none that doeth good, no, not one (Romans
3:12).
- As for religion, man thinks all religions have some truth
and lead to the same God, but God says that Jesus is the
way, the truth, and the life, and no man cometh unto the father
but by Him (John 14:6).
- As for hell, man thinks that it is a religious myth,
but God says it is the destiny of every man that dies without
Christ (John 3:36). The wise man will align his thinking with
Gods by humbling himself before His sovereignty and studying
His Word. ... for that which is highly esteemed among men
is abomination in the sight of God (Luke 16:15). http;//www.wayoflife.org

- If you get the "Cephas Update" notice the following
Scripture study was given.
CHRIST'S SEVEN TRIBULATION EVENTS
- by Cephas Ministry Editor Rita Williams "...... The
first three chapters of Revelation deal with the seven churches
and God's opinion about their pros and cons. Then the Church
disappears until Revelation 19-22. Revelation 4 to 19 is about
Israel the nation. This part of the tribulation is referred to
as Jacob's Trouble. Jacob is the father of the twelve tribes
of Israel. Jacob's name was changed to Israel in Genesis 32:28
"And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob,
but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with
men, and hast prevailed.". The reason this period is
called Jacob's Trouble is, God's judgment will come upon Jacob
and his descendants. God is warning about war, plagues, hunger,
economic depression and death in those verses.
- Revelation 14 refers to the redemption of the twelve tribes,
consisting of 144,000 and the redeemed remnant of Jacob's descendants.
Revelation 19 to 22 is the culmination between the Church, the
redeemed of Israel and the New Jerusalem.
- Looking at the Book of Daniel, we find out that this calamity
will affect the whole world. It is the reason the world is moving
toward a global community that will soon have global currency.
The power will move back to the Roman Empire represented by the
European Union. The Antichrist will rise from the Roman Empire
as someone who promises peace and the ability to fix world economies.
The U.S. is being used to bring that about with wars and democratization
of countries. On the Inauguration Day 2009 the U.S. will fall
into antichristian Communistl hands that will bring the final
touches of demise to the Christian roots it was founded on. Even
though many of the founders of the U.S. were Freemasons, they
were both, Christians and Masons. According to Barrack Obama's
statement about the Sermon on the Mount, he stated something
like this, that it is ludicrous to apply Biblical principles
to the political strategies of our social fabric, see YouTube
in the December 2008 newsletter.
- First Event Is Prior to the Tribulation
- Identifying the invisible Church, the Remnant of Jacob and
Satan's attacks on both.
- Denominational unbelief put Christ, the Word, outside the
camp. Hebrews 6:6 states: "If they shall fall away, to
renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves
the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."
- Prior to the tribulation many will fall away from Christianity
as it states in the following verse. "Let no man deceive
you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come
a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son
of perdition;" (2 Thessalonians 2:3)
- "And the dragon was wroth with the woman (Israel),
and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep
the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
(Revelation: 12:17)
[Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary has the following interpretation
of this verse: 17.
- wroth with--Greek, "at."
- went--Greek, "went away."
- the remnant of her seed - distinct in some
sense from the woman herself. Satan's first effort
was to root out the Christian Church, so that there should be
no visible profession of Christianity. Foiled in this, he wars
(Re 11:7; 13:7)
- against the invisible Church, namely, "those
who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus"
(A, B, and C omit "Christ"). These are "the remnant,"
or rest of her seed, as distinguished from her seed, "the
man-child" (Re 12:5), on one hand, and from mere professors
on the other. The Church, in her beauty and unity (Israel at
the head of Christendom, the whole forming one perfect Church),
- is now not manifested, but awaiting the manifestations
of the sons of God at Christ's coming. Unable to destroy
Christianity and the Church as a whole, Satan directs his enmity
against true Christians, the elect remnant: the others he leaves
unmolested.]
- In Revelation chapter 1 to chapter 3, John is told three
things: "Write the things which thou hast seen, and the
things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;"
(Rev. 1:19). The small 'c' church (Rev. 3:14), are a multitude
of foolish virgins.
- Every evil from the first Church Age was carried over into
the second Church Age until seventh Church Age when 'mainstream
Christianity' apostatized in the early 1960s (2 Thessalonians
2:3) when it rejected Christ's 'harpagesometha' translated 'caught
up' to meet in the clouds 'apantesin' (#1519, #529) which means
to come into the presence of, to meet. Continued: http://www.cephas-library.com/bible_the_seven_tribulation_events.html

- A NEW SCHOOL PRAYER
-
- Now I sit me down in school
- Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
-
- If Scripture now the class recites,
- It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
-
- Our hair can be pink, purple, orange or green,
- That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
-
- For praying in a public hall
- Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
-
- We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
- And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
-
- We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
- And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.
-
- We can get our condoms and birth controls,
- Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
-
- It's scary here I must confess,
- When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
- Amen

- RICK WARREN TO GIVE THE INVOCATION AT OBAMAS INAUGURAL
- Friday Church News Notes, December 26, 2008, www.wayoflife.org
- Southern Baptist pastor Rick Warren has agreed to give the
invocation at Barack Obamas inaugural swearing-in ceremony
on January 20. Warren said, The Bible admonishes us to
pray for our leaders. I am honored by this opportunity to pray
Gods blessing on the office of the President and its current
and future inhabitant, asking the Lord to provide wisdom to Americas
leaders during this critical time in our nations history
(Christiannewswire.com, Dec. 18, 2008). While the Bible does
admonish believers to pray for those in authority (1 Timothy
2:1-4), it also forbids them to yoke together with unbelievers
(2 Corinthians 6:14). It is one thing to pray for our nation
privately and in our churches; it is quite another to appear
at a wicked mans inaugural and pray for Gods blessing
on him. It is impossible to imagine the apostle Paul appearing
in an inaugural ceremony for a pagan Caesar, but that is equivalent
to what Warren is doing. Instead of calling Obama to repentance,
Warren is going to appear with him and smile with him and pray
for Gods blessing on him, a man who supports the unrestricted
murder of unborn children and the marriage of homosexuals.
And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him,
and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly,
and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee
from before the LORD (2 Chronicles 19:2). http://www.wayoflife.org

- DUTCH LEGISLATOR SAYS THERE IS NO MODERATE ISLAM
- Friday Church News Notes, December 26, 2008, www.wayoflife.org
- Speaking at a conference on jihad in Jerusalem, Dutch legislator
Geert Wilders said that as the terrorist attacks in Mumbai
proved, theres no moderate Islam, and it is time
for the West to realize it is in a conflict with the Muslim
faith at large (There Is No Moderate Islam,
Haaretz.com, Dec. 15, 2008). David Bukay of the Haifa University
agreed, saying that moderate Islam does not exist
and that the Koran could not be reformed or modernized. Because
of publishing a short movie consisting of Muslim hate sermons
and gory images of terrorist attacks, Wilders has received death
threats and must be accompanied by bodyguards. http://www.wayoflife.org

- GERMAN GOVERNMENT DROPS CHARGES AGAINST HOMESCHOOLING FAMILY
- Friday Church News Notes, December 26, 2008, www.wayoflife.org
- The following is excerpted from Homeschoolers Win,
WorldNetDaily, Dec. 11, 2008: Authorities are dropping
criminal child- neglect charges pending against a German mother
and father who could have faced up to two years in jail and loss
of custody for homeschooling five of their children, according
to a report from the International Human Rights Group. Spokesman
Joel Thornton said his group, which has been working on the case
involving the Brause family from Zittau, Germany, heard from
local counsel about the governments decision. We
received word from our German counsel in this case, Johannes
Hildebrandt, that the court and the prosecutor are dropping the
charges against Mr. and Mrs. Brause. This means they no longer
face up to two years in prison and the potential loss of their
children. The decision of German officials is a huge victory
for this family and for homeschool families in Germany,
Thornton told WND. ... The case involved custody of Rosine, Jotham,
Kurt-Simon, Lovis and Ernst Brause. Thornton said the announcement
came after the court received a detailed psychiatric report that
there is no psychological harm to the children from homeschooling.
The report also stated that the children have not been harmed,
which is evidenced by their exit exams from high school, he said.
... This is a huge victory for homeschool families in Germany.
It means that government officials must be more careful when
bringing criminal charges against home school families.
... Thornton said the Brause family members are Christians and
the parents homeschool for reasons of parental responsibility
before God and the law. ... Just a few days ago, the Homeschool
Legal Defense Association said it was helping a family with an
unusual, first-of-its-kind application: political asylum in the
United States from Germanys oppressive homeschooling laws.
The Uwe and Hannelore Romeike family fled their native Bissingen,
Germany, to escape persecution under a Nazi-era law requiring
all children to attend public school to avoid the emergence
of parallel societies based on separate philosophical convictions
that could be taught by parents at home. http://www.wayoflife.org

- RECENT PENTECOSTAL SCANDALS
- December 29, 2008 - David Cloud - wayoflife.org - From its
inception the Pentecostal movement has been marred deeply by
scandals, as we have documented in our illustrated 317-page book
The Pentecostal-Charismatic Movements: Its History and Its Error.
If the movement had the fullness of the Holy Spirit unction and
power that it claims, we would not see such an exhibition of
the flesh, but in fact moral and other scandals have continued
to plague it in recent history. The following are some prominent
examples:
- In 1977 ORAL ROBERTS claimed that God had appeared to him
and instructed him to build a medical center called the CITY
OF FAITH. In 1980 he claimed that he had a face to face
conversation with a 900- foot-tall Jesus who told him that he
was going to solve the City of Faith financial problems. Seven
years later, Roberts said that God had appeared to him yet again
and told him that he would die if he did not raise $8 million
within 12 months. The wild-eyed visions and unrelenting appeals
could not save the City of Faith. In 1989 Roberts closed it to
pay off debts! Yet the Pentecostal world in general did not decry
Roberts as a false prophet and a religious phony. Thousands continued
to flock to ORU from Pentecostal churches across the country,
and millions of dollars continued to flow into Roberts
ministry from gullible supporters.
- In 1989 JIM BAKKER, head of the very influential Pentecostal
PTL television program went to prison for defrauding his followers
out of $158 million. He was paroled in 1994 after serving five
years of a 45- year sentence. His trial brought to light his
lavish lifestyle, which included six luxurious homes and even
an air-conditioned dog house. Prosecutors charged Bakker with
diverting to his own use $3.7 million of the money that had been
given to his ministry. Bakker also committed adultery
with church secretary Jessica Hahn and paid more than $250,000
in an attempt to hush up the matter. Bakkers wife and the
former co-host of the PTL Club, Tammy Faye, divorced him while
he was in prison and married Roe Messner, an old family friend
whose company helped build PTLs Heritage USA resort complex.
Today Tammy Faye has a non-judgmental ministry to homosexuals.
She appears at gay- pride events nationwide, including
a Tammy Faye look-alike contest in Washington, D.C., where she
was surrounded by men in falsies and pancake makeup
(Charisma News, November 2002). In January 2000 Bakker told Larry
King, Every person who died in the [Jewish] Holocaust is
in heaven. Bakker defended this heretical doctrine in a
letter to the editor that appeared in Charisma magazine in June
of that year. Continued:

- HERE WE GO AGAIN: COSTCO SAYS 'NO' TO CHRISTMAS.. LITERALLY
December 2, 2008 - Costco has 520 stores nationwide. But you
will not find "Christmas" in a single store.
That's because Costco says it will not use the term "Christmas"
on its website or in its stores. Instead, Costco is telling customers
it purposely chooses to use the generic "holiday" verbiage.
You know, they stock holiday gifts, not Christmas gifts. Last
week, a customer wrote to Costco and asked this direct question
"Does Costco use the word 'Christmas' in your store
advertising or on any signs anywhere in your stores during the
Christmas season? That's a pretty simple question, yes or no."
Kory Rosacrans, staff manager for Costco replied, "I guess
the answer would be No." Rosacrans said, "Costco does
not advertise on television, on radio or in print like other
retailers. We only advertise by mailings and e-mail messages
sent directly to our members who have paid for the privilege
of shopping with us." Costco wants you to do your "Christmas"
shopping with them, while refusing to recognize that Christmas
even exists. Source: Action Alert http://faq.afa.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=category§ionid=5&id=13&Itemid=35

- IS THE EMERGING CHURCH RIGHT? "THERE IS NO SECOND COMING
OF JESUS CHRIST"
THE COMING KINGDOM
- By Larry DeBruyn - Evolution or Revolution? - In recent years,
Christendom's thinkers have offered a smorgasbord of ideas and
theories about Jesus, thus begging the question--will the real
Jesus please stand up? If one pays attention to the Jesus revisionists,
we are left with the impression that nobody really understood
Him, not even the Apostle Paul. To some, Jesus is a white Caucasian,
and to others He's a black African. To some, He was a revolutionary,
and to others a pacifist. To some, He's a prophet, while to others
He's a Gnostic. From teacher to magician, Jesus, it seems, can
become almost anyone to everyone--a man for all seasons. So,
it is supposed, if we earnestly "quest" after Him,
we might discover the authentic Jesus. However, Jesus "makeovers"
usually require that disparate parts of the biblical record be
affirmed on the one hand, and denied on the other. But amidst
all this "Jesus questing," the believer can take solace
in knowing that controversy over Jesus' identity is not new (See
Matthew 16:13-20). As he embraces "the nonviolent Jesus
of the Gospels" (the Jesus of "love and grace"),
one Christian leader now debunks what he labels the "jihadist
Jesus" of the "Second Coming" (the Jesus of "violence
and domination"). According to Brian McLaren, "the
Second Coming Jesus"--once held by an evangelical consensus
to be one of the five fundamentals of the Christian faith--needs
rethinking....
- New Age spiritualists are comfortable with the idea that
a cosmic Christ-spirit, in a laissez-faire way, dwells in, around,
and through all things, but are discomforted by any thought that
the personal Christ might turn out to be a hands-on "Jesus,"
who when He comes, will not only judge men for how they treated
His creation, but also for how they treated God and His children.

- "TWINNING" EVENTS JOIN SYNAGOGUES AND MOSQUES
by Johanna Ginsberg - NJJN Staff Writer - When Rabbi Donald Rossoff
of Temple B'nai Or in Morristown was asked if he would consider
twinning his synagogue with a nearby mosque for a national weekend
of Jewish-Islamic interfaith outreach, he said, "It was
pretty much a no-brainer." B'nai Or is one of several NJ
synagogues participating in the Nov. 21-23 project spearheaded
by the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding.
- According to the foundation, 50 mosques and 50 synagogues
around the country will hold joint activities to "confront
Islamophobia and anti-Semitism in their communities." The
weekend is the direct result of a summit meeting of 12 rabbis
and 12 imams held in November 2007. The event is timed to coincide
with a visit by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations.

- BENNY HINN SPEAKS OUT AGAINST THE FLORIDA REVIVAL
- Word-for-Word Transcript - by Bud Press - To his dedicated
followers, Benny Hinn is an "anointed" man of God,
faith healer, pastor, and evangelist. But to discerning Christians
worldwide, Benny Hinn is the most prolific heretic, false prophet,
and false healer of our day. Benny Hinn is well-known within
discernment ministries as one hyper-Charismatic among many who
helped popularize the term, "heresy hunter" (a term
originally coined in the early 1990's by Paul Crouch, founder
of the heretical Trinity Broadcasting Network). In the past,
Benny Hinn wasn't shy about threatening discerning Christians
with a "Holy Ghost machine gun," and wishing he could
find one Scripture that says it is okay to "kill them."
Hinn even placed a "curse" on men, women, and children
who spoke out against his "ministry." And it is Benny
Hinn who has claimed to be a "god" and a "messiah,"
and taught that Jesus. Continued: http://www.christianresearchservice.com/BHinn39.htm

TRANSFORMATION OF THE CHURCH
- October 13, 2008 - Pastor Jeff Whittaker: His firsthand account
of his personal experience attending the Emergent church leader
Brian McLarens Everything Must Change conference.
Pastor Whittaker gives a lively and animated report of his personal
experience attending Emergent church leader Brian McLaren's "Everything
Must Change" conference in Goshen, Indiana. His entertaining
and eye-opening report details the extent to which this movment
has adopted the non-biblical practices and doctrines of earth-centered
spirituality. Pastor Whittaker's written reports were posted
on Herescope HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE earlier this summer.
He updates the conference with information concerning the repercussions
of his first reports.
- Pastor Larry DeBruyn, a frequent contributor to Herescope
over the past several months, delves into several controversial
issues in the modern church. Pastor DeBruyn examines the question:
"Was Paul a Mystic?" He provides a helpful explanation
of the key elements of the emerging mysticism that is permeating
the evangelical world. His talk is, in part, based on his 4-part
Herescope series that ran in May 2008 HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

- 14-YEAR-OLD GIRLS TO BE TAUGHT ABOUT THEIR 'RIGHT' TO HAVE
AN ABORTION
Schoolgirls as young as 14 could be forced to watch a film that
teaches them they have the right to choose an abortion. - Telegraph.co.uk
- by Martin Beckford, Social Affairs Correspondent - 26 November
2008 - The film puts forward the idea that it is up to a woman
if she wants to terminate her pregnancy, and makers claim only
a few are left traumatised by the procedure. Made by the Family
Planning Association, Why Abortion? shows a range of scenarios
in which actresses justify abortion on the grounds that they
cannot afford to have a child or that it could jeopardise their
relationship with parents or boyfriends. Their choices are then
debated in the video by a group of teenagers from Northern Ireland
- where abortion remains illegal with the majority defending
women's right to choose. They claim that abortion is legal and
safe, and that religious leaders shouldn't "moralise or
dictate" about the issue.
- The pro-choice FPA says that abortion is a fact of life and
so it makes sense for teenagers to learn about it. England and
Wales has the second-highest termination rate in Europe, with
205,600 abortions carried out in 2007, while Labour MPs rejected
moves to cut the upper time limit from 24 to 20 weeks earlier
this year.
- It comes just weeks after the Government announced that sex
and relationships education will become compulsory in primary
schools as part of a drive to cut teenage pregnancy rates. The
National Children's Bureau also wants all secondary schools to
have on-site sexual health clinics, while girls as young as 13
will be urged to have contraceptive injections and implants.
The FPA is offering schools the chance to buy a copy of the DVD
for £25 together with a booklet that claims to explode
the "myths" that having a surgical abortion can harm
a woman's ability to conceive in the future, and that terminating
a baby is always upsetting. Continued:

- JAMES LISTER: AN EARLY DEFENDER OF THE KING JAMES BIBLE
- December 4, 2008 David Cloud, - wayoflife.org - The defense
of the King James Bible is not new. The following is excerpted
from FOR LOVE OF THE BIBLE: THE BATTLE FOR THE KING JAMES VERSION
AND THE GREEK RECEIVED TEXT FROM 1800 TO PRESENT. This book traces
the history of the defense of the KJV and the Received Text from
1800 to present. The book includes hundreds of testimonies and
biographies; sketches of churches, schools, and organizations
that have defended the KJV; a digest of reviews and condensations
of major books and articles written in defense of the KJV in
the past 200 years; excerpts from rare books on this subject
which are no longer available; a comprehensive overview of the
varied arguments in favor of the KJV. For Love of the Bible also
gives a history of the modern English versions, beginning with
the English Revised of 1881. Also included is a history of textual
criticism, revealing that most of the textual scholars from the
19th-century on were rationalists who denied the infallible inspiration
of Scripture. The 46-page annotated bibliography is the most
extensive in print on the subject, to our knowledge. A detailed
index is also included. The author spent several thousand dollars
researching the book and has written several hundred letters
in this connection, communicating with men from around the world
who stand for the KJV today. Michael Maynard, author of A History
of the Debate over 1 John 5:7,8, wrote: For Love of the
Bible is a masterpiece. It ought to be in every academic, public,
and special library in the world. http://www.cephas-library.com/bible_versions_early_defender.html

- GEORGE BUSH: BIBLE 'PROBABLY' NOT LITERAL
Bush talks of belief in God, evolution
- WASHINGTON (AP) President George W. Bush said his belief
that God created the world is not incompatible with scientific
proof of evolution. In an interview with ABCs Nightline
on Monday, the president also said he probably is not a literalist
when reading the Bible although an individual can learn a great
deal from it, including the New Testament teaching that God sent
his only son. Asked about creation and evolution, Bush said:
I think you can have both. I think evolution can
youre getting me way out of my lane here. Im just
a simple president. But its, I think that God created the
earth, created the world; I think the creation of the world is
so mysterious it requires something as large as an almighty and
I dont think its incompatible with the scientific
proof that there is evolution. He added, I happen
to believe that evolution doesnt fully explain the mystery
of life. Interviewer Cynthia McFadden asked Bush if the
Bible was literally true.

- NEW YORK TIMES AD BLASTS IRE AIMED AT LDS
Civil rights and religious leaders speak out - Declaring no
mob veto, a full-page ad in the New York Times on Friday
denounced the violence and intimidation directed
at members of the LDS Church who supported Californias
ban on gay marriage. When thugs
terrorize any place
of worship, especially those of a religious minority, responsible
voices need to speak clearly: Religious wars are wrong; they
are also dangerous, reads the advertisement paid for by
the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, based in Washington, D.C.
- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has come
under fire from gay rights activists across the country since
coming out in support of Californias Proposition 8, an
amendment to the states constitution that defines marriage
as a union between one man and one woman. In a statement Friday,
church officials expressed gratitude to the dozen civil rights
and religious leaders, ranging from Catholic to evangelical Christian
to Orthodox Jew, who attached their names to the advertisement.
This was a thoughtful and generous gesture at a time when
the right of free expression of people of faith has come under
attack, said Elder M. Russell Ballard, a member of the
LDS Churchs Quorum of the Twelve, in a statement. We
join with those of all religious faiths and political persuasions
who have called for reasoned and civil discourse on matters that
affect our nation. The Human Rights Campaign, however,
decried the ad, calling it corporate hypocrisy. Calls
for tolerance of certain religious viewpoints rings hollow in
a world where religion often stands by tolerating violence perpetrated
on Gods lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender children,
said Rev. Erin Swenson, a Presbyterian minister who sits on the
HRCs Religion Council. Continued: https://secure.deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,705268362,00.html

- SCIENTOLOGY: RIVERSIDE COUNTY PUTS RESIDENTIAL PICKETING
RESTRAINTS ON HOLD
- December 9, 2008 - By JULIA GLICK - The Press-Enterprise
- Riverside County supervisors Tuesday backed off from picketing
restrictions supported by the Church of Scientology that supervisors
had preliminarily approved last month. Supervisors stopped final
approval of the ordinance and voted unanimously to re-examine
its prohibition on picketing within 300 feet of a targeted residence.
They agreed to have county counsel and staff retool the ordinance
in consultation with the county sheriff's office and Samuel Alhadeff,
an attorney representing the Church of Scientology. "I think
we may be going too far with this ordinance," said Board
Chairman Roy Wilson. "I think it does restrict the legitimate
right to protest." Wilson then referenced supervisors' participation
in 2005 protests at the residence of convicted sex offender David
Allyn Dokich -- demonstrations that would have been limited under
the new ordinance.
- The Church of Scientology backed restrictions on residential
protests in unincorporated Riverside County following a demonstration
that turned violent outside Scientology's Gilman Hot Springs
base in October. On Nov. 25, supervisors held a public hearing
and approved the first reading of the ordinance, on a 4-1 vote.
Tuesday's decision to reconsider followed a five-minute discourse
from the podium in which Supervisor Jeff Stone accused Scientology
opponents of oppressing Jews, Christians and black people and
encouraging youth suicide and terrorism. Stone read from and
displayed a pamphlet produced by the Church of Scientology. Anti-Scientology
picketers from the group Anonymous spoke at the meeting and said
the church was inventing lies as part of efforts to discredit
and harass critics. "The group Anonymous does not target
any religion. The only activity we do is to oppose the criminal
activities of Scientology and the cult of Scientology,"
said Francois Choquette, an aerospace engineer who participated
in the October protest. He called the Gilman Hot Springs base
a prison and said the church punishes it members there with beatings.

- WARREN'S INAUGURATION PRAYER COULD DRAW MORE IRE
In this Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 file photo, Pastor Rick Warren
signs his book in New York. President-elect Barack Obama's choice
of Rick Warren to deliver the inaugural invocation drew one kind
of protest. Charles Sykes By RACHEL ZOLL (AP Religion Writer)
- From Associated Press - December 30, 2008 9:35 PM EST
President-elect Barack Obama's choice of Rick Warren to deliver
the inaugural invocation drew one kind of protest. Whether the
evangelical pastor offers the prayer in the name of Jesus may
draw another. At George W. Bush's 2001 swearing-in, the Revs.
Franklin Graham and Kirbyjon Caldwell were criticized for invoking
Christ. The distinctly Christian reference at a national civic
event offended some, and even prompted a lawsuit. Warren did
not answer directly when asked whether he would dedicate his
prayer to Jesus. In a statement Tuesday to The Associated Press,
Warren would say only that, "I'm a Christian pastor so I
will pray the only kind of prayer I know how to pray." "Prayers
are not to be sermons, speeches, position statements nor political
posturing. They are humble, personal appeals to God," Warren
wrote. His spokesman would not elaborate. Evangelicals generally
expect their clergymen to use Jesus' name whenever and wherever
they lead prayer. Many conservative Christians say cultural sensitivity
goes way too far if it requires religious leaders to hide their
beliefs. "If Rick Warren does not pray in Jesus' name, some
folks are going to be very disappointed," Caldwell said
in a recent phone interview. "Since he's evangelical, his
own tribe, if you will, will have some angst if he does not do
that." Advocates for gay rights protested Obama's decision
to give Warren a prominent role at the swearing-in. The California
megachurch founder supported Proposition 8, which banned same-sex
marriage in his home state. Obama defended his choice, saying
he wanted the event to reflect diverse views and insisting he
remains a "fierce advocate" of equal rights for gays.

- TOP EVANGELICAL LEADER RESIGNS OVER GAY UNIONS REMARKS
ReligionNewsBlog.com- December
12, 2008 - An outspoken and polarizing voice in conservative
Christian politics resigned effective Thursday from the National
Association of Evangelicals after a radio interview in which
he voiced support for same-sex civil unions and said he is shifting
on gay marriage. The Rev. Richard Ciziks comments
made on a Dec. 2 Fresh Air broadcast on National
Public Radio triggered an uproar that led to his stepping
down as NAE vice president of governmental affairs.
- A fixture in Washington for nearly three decades, Cizik has
played a key role in bringing evangelical Christian concerns
to the political table. But in recent years, he earned enemies
in the movement for pushing to broaden the evangelical agenda.
His strongest focus was on creation care, arguing
that evangelicals have a biblical responsibility to the environment
that
- Rev. Leith Anderson - -
includes combatting global warming. The Rev. Leith Anderson,
a Minneapolis-area pastor who serves as NAE president, said Thursday
the group is not backing away from its environmental stances.
Ciziks resignation was necessary, he said, because some
of his answers in the radio interview did not reflect NAE values
and convictions. Any organizations that speak to controversial
issues are going to have critics, Anderson said. What
was different this time was our individuals and organizations
felt there was a loss of credibility for him clearly espousing
our positions and values. When you lose that, its very
difficult to re-establish. Cizik did not immediately respond
to requests for comment Thursday. The NAE said in a statement
that Cizik had expressed regret, apologized and affirmed
our values. The NAE is an umbrella group for tens of thousands
of churches and organizations. Anderson said a combination
of things Cizik said in the interview led to his downfall,
including this comment on gay marriage: Im shifting,
I have to admit. In other words, I would willingly say I believe
in civil unions. I dont officially support redefining marriage
from its traditional definition, I dont think.
- Coming off the passage last month of amendments barring gay
marriage in three states, some evangelicals took that as a slap
in the face, said David Neff, editor of Christianity Today magazine
and a member of the NAE executive committee. Continued: http://www.religionnewsblog.com/23040/richard-cizik-gay-unions

- PALIN'S CHURCH IS BADLY DAMAGED BY ARSON [HAVE YOU NOTICED
HOW WE ARE BRAINWASHED WITH SARAH AND HER PROBABLE FUTURE REPUBLICAN
CANDIDACY? SHE POPS UP SOMEWHERE DAILY.]
The New York Times, Dec. 13, 2008 - ANCHORAGE (AP) Gov.
Sarah Palins home church was badly damaged by arson, leading
Ms. Palin to apologize if the fire was connected to undeserved
negative attention the church received during her campaign
as the Republican vice-presidential nominee. Damage to Wasilla
Bible Church was estimated at $1 million, the authorities said
Saturday. No one was injured in the fire, which was set Friday
night while a few people were inside, said the Central Mat-Su
fire chief, James Steele. Chief Steele said the blaze was being
investigated as an arson but said he did not know of any recent
threats to the church, which has 1,000 members - Summarized by
Religion News Blog - WASILLA - A Friday night fire at Gov. Sarah
Palins church caused an estimated $1 million in damage,
and investigators say it could be the work of an arsonist.
- Firefighters were called to Wasilla Bible Church about 9:40
p.m. and found flames and smoke coming out windows at the back
of the three-story structure, said James Steele, chief of the
Central Mat-Su Fire Department.
- Five women, and possibly a couple of children, were inside
the church working on crafts, but everyone got out safely after
a fire alarm alerted them to trouble, Steele said. Continued:

- THE TIMELINE OF HUMAN MICROCHIP
- by Greg Noverichipinside.com - www.opednews.com - December
14, 2008 Excerpt: ".... Joseph A. Meyer, of the National
Security Agency has proposed implanting roughly half of all Americans
arrested - not necessarily convicted - of any crime; the numbers
of "subscribers" (his euphemism) would run into the
tens of millions. "Subscribers" could be monitored
continually by computer wherever they went. Meyer, who has carefully
worked out the economics of his mass-implantation system, asserts
that taxpayer liability should be reduced by forcing subscribers
to "rent" the implant from the State. Implants are
cheaper and more efficient than police... Scott Silverman, CEO
of Applied Digital (Verichip Corp.) He started out catering to
pet owners with a readable chip injected under the animal's skin
which would be connected to a 16 digit number that was connected
to a computer database which would serve as an identifier if
the pet were lost. From there he quickly petitioned the Pentagon
for a contract to use RFID chips on parts and military supplies,
not the least of which were, you guessed it...the troops themselves.
Mr. Silverman has been successful in so far chipping the dead
after the Hurricane Katrina tragedy, chipping doctors and their
patients, chipping Alzheimer patients and in international contracts,
the beginnings of microchipped and dare I say, micromanaged society.
In conclusion, looking at this brief historical account of just
a few of the men behind the microchip/Rfid industry, we would
have to agree that the usage of this technology has been steadily
evolving over the past 50+ years. To say that Verichip and it's
precursors are a technology that is a simple way to track shipments
and protect pets and patients, is simply an ignorant explanation
of the product. It's applications have nefarious beginnings and
those that understand the Elite's lust of control and power over
humanity must see this technology for what it is: it is the proverbial
bait and switch.
Sugar-coated via Scott Silverman as a simple answer to security
and safety concerns, those that study the historical proofs will
see human implantation as the nemesis of free thought and the
right to live and travel independantly. ... "

- WOMAN SENTENCED IN PONZI SCHEME THAT TARGETED RELIGIOUS LEADERS
AND MINISTRIES
- December 16, 2008 - IPIC International - Woman Sentenced
In Ponzi Scheme - A 51-year-old Canton woman who spent nearly
a year on the lam after she was convicted for her involvement
in a Ponzi scheme that bilked church ministries and religious
organizations out of more than $61 million has been sentenced
to nine years in prison.
- Cynthia Faye Setser was sentenced by U.S. District Judge
Barbara Lynn last week to four years in prison for failing to
appear in court and five years in prison for her involvement
in the conspiracy case. She was ordered to pay restitution of
$61.6 million. Mrs. Setser was indicted in 2003 and pleaded guilty
to securities fraud on March 16, 2006. She was allowed to remain
out of jail on bond but failed to appear for her sentencing hearing
on Jan. 16, 2007. Mrs. Setser fled to Indiana, Georgia and finally
Florida until she was captured on Dec. 5, 2007. She pleaded guilty
to failure to appear. Her husband Gregory Earl Setser was sentenced
to 40 years in prison for his involvement in the scheme. His
sister Deborah S. Setser was convicted and sentenced to 15 years
in prison and Joshua Nathan Setser was sentenced to two years
in prison.
- IPIC Investments, Inc. was initially located in Canton but
later was based in California. The defendants were officers or
employers of the company. Two other employees were also charged
in the case, but a jury found them not guilty. Beginning in 2000
in North Texas, the defendants devised a scheme to induce people
to enter into investment contracts with IPIC. They targeted churches,
ministries and religious organizations and their pastors, leaders
and members and represented to investors that IPIC was a highly
successful import/export business.
- The investment programs involved the importation of merchandise
for resale in the United States and other countries, from which
IPIC would pay 50 percent of the profits from the product sales
to investors, according to the indictment. A Web site was established
to solicit investors and promised a 90 to 180 day return-on-investment
of at least 25 to 50 percent. Invested funds were not used to
buy and sell goods but were converted to the defendants
personal use. Payments made to some investors were made with
money received from other investors, the indictment states. Casey

- THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG? ALLEGED FRAUD BRINGS DOWN ONE CHURCH
AND MAY SPREAD
By Warren Cole Smith - Dec 16, 2008 - David Talbot seemed like
a trustworthy Christian businessman to the members of New Horizon
Fellowship, a new church starting up in Wyckoff, N.J. He "talked
the talk" of an evangelical Christian, according to Bill
Werner, one of the elders at New Horizon. But according to Werner,
and now according to the Attorney General of the State of New
Jersey, he may have "talked the talk," but he didn't
"walk the walk." That is, if you don't count a "perp
walk": Talbot has been sued by New Jersey because he "operated
a fraud" by selling over $500-thousand in unregistered securities
"which promised high yield returns." The complaint,
filed in the Superior Court of Bergen County on Aug. 8, further
alleges that Talbot and two co-defendents "appealed to investors'
religious beliefs because some investors were told a percentage
of the profits were going to charitable purposes, including to
purchase a church." That church? The very same New Horizon
Fellowship, which is now defunct. Most of the people who lost
money in the scheme were members of the church who, according
to Werner, were offered "crazy returns of 30 percent a month."
Werner said he considered the offer in 2007, but he became suspicious
when Talbot couldn't explain where the money would be invested,
or how the returns could be so great. "Talbot said it was
a secret, and that if the word got out, it would kill the deal."

- RICK WARREN TO SPEAK AT 6TH ANNUAL MUSLIM PUBLIC AFFAIRS
COUNCIL CONVENTION
- Rick Warren, who says it is his goal in life to bring about
a new reformation that will include Muslims, will be a featured
speaker at the upcoming 8th
Annual Muslim Public Affairs Council Convention to
be held December 20th in Long Beach, California. The name of
the event is New Era, New Role.
- Rick
Warren hopes to help establish a 3-legged stool, which he
believes will bring about global peace. The stool is the collaboration
of government, economics (business), and religion. Many of Warren's
ideas on reformation echo Peter Drucker and Robert Schuller.
He has joined himself on many occasions with New Age sympathizers
such as Ken Blanchard and Leonard Sweet. In addition, he has
been promoting the mystical contemplative prayer movement for
nearly two decades.
- Rick Warren, May 2005, Pew Forum on Religion
"Who's the man of peace in any village - or it might be
a woman of peace - who has the most respect, they're open and
they're influential? They don't have to be a Christian. In fact,
they could be a Muslim, but they're open and they're influential
and you work with them to attack the five giants. And that's
going to bring the second Reformation." Jesus, Matthew 6:24
- "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate
the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one,
and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

- IS THAT OUR FUTURE MANDATORY COMMUNITY SERVICE, A THREE-LEGGED
PURPOSE DRIVEN PLAN, AND A BRAVE NEW WORLD?
- By Kjos Ministries - [Lighthouse Trails Note: Please keep
in mind while reading this article by Berit Kjos that Rick Warren
is on the Leadership Council of Service Nation. Service Nation
is Rick Warren's three-legged global peace plan in action.] "Mind
Change and Collective Service" by Berit Kjos - At the dawn
of Stalin's deadly reign in the 1930s -- when Communist leader
Antonio Gramsci was writing his cunning formula for transforming
the West -- numerous European Marxist were searching for effective
strategies for mass control. As Hitler rose to power, some fled
to America where they fine-tuned their tactics at "progressive"
institutions like Columbia University. Welcomed by liberal educators,
they found plenty of opportunity to test and teach their theories.
Others merely exported their research to fellow revolutionaries
in America. Their names -- Adorno, Marcuse, Lukács
and Lewin -- don't ring many bells today, but no one can escape
their impact on our nation. Their radical schemes fit right into
the dialectic process. Like Saul Alinsky, their followers would
"unfreeze" minds from uncompromising Truth, fill them
with a passion for collectivism, "refreeze" them with
the new ideology, and establish socialism in America.
- Before long, the mind-changing process that transformed the
Soviet masses became the centerpiece of "service learning"
in schools and communities. Students everywhere would be immersed
in practical collectivism -- what the Soviets called Praxis.
Remember, the primary goal behind such group service is "service
learning," NOT compassion for the poor. The latter is mainly
a feel-good incentive for group participation in a communal purpose,
vision, activity and transformation. (See Purpose-driven groups)
This scheme matches the old Nazi model. Young Germans from age
10 to 19 had to serve in the Hitler Youth program. And, as Hitler
affirmed back in 1933, 'the whole of National Socialism [Nazism]
is based on Marxism." His brainwashed servants, who became
anything but compassionate, just copied the Communist strategies:
"The purpose of labor service was partly practical -- to...
provide a source of cheap labor -- but mainly ideological. It
was part of the cult of community current in the youth movement
now manipulated by the Nazis for their own end." But shouldn't
we gladly and willingly serve the needy and each other? Yes,
of course! But not in ways that prompt us to twist, compromise
or hide His Word under the banner of unity or charity. Click

- IN THE LORD'S EYES WE HAVE BECOME AN 'OBAMANATION
'
- Mat 24:14 And this Good News about the Kingdom will be announced
throughout the whole world as a witness to all the Goyim. It
is then that the end will come.
- Mat 24:15 "So when you see the abomination that causes
desolation spoken about through the prophet Dani'el standing
in the Holy Place" (let the reader understand the allusion),
- Mat 24:16 "that will be the time for those in Y'hudah
to escape to the hills. abomination that causes desolation
How many people really know what that statement means? I asked
many Christians who say they have read the bible what this very
true statement means. All of them have said they do not know.
This statement saddened me but made me happy because I had been
chosen by Adonai to bring a VERY IMPOTANT message to these people
and to you. We are going to take a very deep look at Mattiyahu/Mat
24. We are going to look at prophecy. We are going to see that
for the first time in history the Gospel is going to be going
out to the last 2,400 languages in the world. We are going to
look at the Feast of Dedication Chanukah and see
what its PROPHETIC implications are and why satan does not want
the body to celebrate the only new Holy Day in the NT!!! watch
