SANHEDRIN CEREMONY HAS TAKEN PLACE IN TIBERIAS.
The Sanhedrin, the highest Jewish legal tribunal, have once again coming into their own after 1,600 years. In a ceremony reminiscent of the days of Jesus, the Sanhedrin have been reintroduced into the court system in Tiberias, Israel. The Sanhedrin, a religious assembly that formerly met in the chambers of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, had 71 sages and existed from several decades before Jesus until about 425 A.D., or what the Jews call the "common era" (C.E.) Seventy one rabbis received special rabbinic ordination as specified by Maimonides, a Jewish sage from the first century. Earlier attempts to reconvene the Sanhedrin was made several centuries ago in Tzfat, Israel were unsuccessful when other leading rabbis soon forced the end of the endeavor. Membership as one of the new Sanhedrin is not permanent but this cohesion of members will give Israel one rabbinic body in Jerusalem that will convene monthly and issue rulings on central issues. Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, who heads the Temple institute in Jerusalem, is one of the participating rabbis. "Whether this will be the actual Sanhedrin that we await, is a question of time - just like the establishment of the State; we rejoiced in it, but we are still awaiting something much more ideal. It's a process." The Jewish Sages who believe in the Talmud, (Oral commentaries on the Law or Torah, or the first five books of the Bible,) describe what they believe to be ten stages of exile of the Sanhedrin from Jerusalem to other locations, until it ended in Tiberias - and this is the place where it was foretold that it would be renewed, and from here it will be relocated to Jerusalem. I personally find it interesting that at this point in time, right before the return of Jesus, there is a renewal of this religious court. As in the days of Jesus, we know what came from this very same august body of religious believers, they conspired to put Jesus to death. Perhaps the revived Sanhedrin will help establish the "one who comes in his own name" that
will be received, by Israel and the whole world. After all, mankind doesn't mind religion, as long as the Name, power and authority of the real King of Kings is not the issue. [Open Seal by Hollis Caravetta ]

SHARON DENIES OLMERT'S DISENGAGEMENT 2 PLAN
Olmert´s Israel National News - Jan 02, '05 / 21 Tevet 5765 - PM Sharon's Bureau rejects the idea raised by Minister Olmert in The Jerusalem Post today, according to which a second disengagement plan from additional areas in Judea and Samaria is on the way."There is no option of sitting and doing nothing," Olmert was quoted as telling The Jerusalem Post today. "Israel's interest requires a disengagement on a wider scale than what will happen as part of the current disengagement plan." He said that this will need to happen whether or not a viable peace partner emerges on the PA side. Olmert was the first government minister to allude to the current disengagement/withdrawal/expulsion plan, just over a year ago. Two weeks later, Sharon came out publicly with the transfer plan he called "disengagement." Currently in the legislation process in the Knesset, the plan calls for the demolition of 25 Jewish communities in Gush Katif and northern Shomron, the transfer of their residents, and the abandonment of the land to the Arabs. This time, however, Sharon's Bureau negated Olmert's position. The Bureau released a statement saying there will be no further disengagements, that there is no such plan, and that the only peace program Israel will be a party to will be the Road Map drawn up by the Bush Administration.

TSUNAMI REACTIONS
MEMRI TV Project January 14, 2005 - Retired Saudi General Dr. Anwar Ashqi: US Knew About Tsunami; Committed "Passive Murder," Isn't Generous An excerpt: "The U.S., before the disaster, gave warning to its base in Diego Garcia and warned all of its shores about this earthquake. It did not, however, warn the governments of those countries. Had it warned those countries' governments, they could have warned their citizens, and if people had retreated to a distance of 15-30 meters from the shore, the loss of life would not have been so great. These things should be taken into account. Just as there is active murder, there is also passive murder. Did the U.S. understand this, or did it just not care? Saudi Arabia, as always, is showing unparalleled generosity. If we look at this in terms of percentages, we will see that every year Saudi Arabia allocates three percent to seven percent of its budget to charity, while the U.S. and Europe, whom the media portrays as generous, allocate no more than 0.3 percent of their yearly budgets." http://www.memritv.org/search.asp?ACT=S9&P1=481

UHAMID REZA ASEFI, SPOKESMAN FOR THE IRANIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY ON IRAN'S NUCLEAR INTENTIONS
An excerpt: "The Muslim world feels threatened by Israel. That is true. They themselves don't hide this. They still want to make good on the slogan, "from the Nile to the Euphrates." We did not start a war with the Israelis. It is the diplomatic right of every nation to define its identity. Iran has the right to recognize one country, and not to recognize another. It is its diplomatic right to consider the Zionist regime an illegitimate regime and an illegitimate country, and not to recognize it. It may be that someone
will destroy the nuclear facilities, but it is impossible to destroy the nuclear know-how. This know-how is in the minds of this country's youth. If a given facility should be destroyed, another one will be built. We are not worried on that count." http://www.memritv.org/search.asp?ACT=S9&P1=485

ISRAEL TO HAND OVER SEVERAL WEST BANK CITIES
NYT By Greg Myre January 31, 2005 - JERUSALEM, Jan. 30 - Israel is prepared to hand over security control of several West Bank cities to the Palestinians in the next few days, Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz said Sunday, in the latest sign of increasing cooperation between the sides. The Israelis and Palestinians have resumed security and diplomatic discussions this month, and if the process goes smoothly, Israel's prime minister, Ariel Sharon, and the Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, are expected to meet on or around Feb. 8, both sides said over the weekend... "We talked about handing over responsibility, as has started in the Gaza Strip," Mr. Mofaz told army radio on Sunday. "We believe that in the next few days, they will get responsibility over other towns in the West Bank." The Palestinian prime minister, Ahmed Qurei, speaking in the West Bank city of Ramallah, called the security meeting "very successful." .. In Jerusalem, Jewish settlers and their supporters held a huge demonstration on Sunday evening outside Israel's Parliament building to protest Mr. Sharon's plan to withdraw settlers from Gaza. The Israeli news media estimated the crowd at more than 100,000... Mr. Sharon has described a referendum as a stalling maneuver and says he will press ahead with the evacuation of the more than 8,000 settlers in Gaza, along with several hundred of the approximately 200,000 in the West Bank. The withdrawal is planned for this summer.

SECRETARY CONDOLEEZA RICE REMARKS AT TOWNHALL MEETING
Washington DC Dean Acheson Auditorium - January 31, 2005
QUESTION: I had a specific question about your vision of the role of the U.S. in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, especially after Arafat left, and specifically our relationship with the Palestinian territories. SECRETARY RICE: Yes, sure. Well, in June of 2002, the President laid out a very important vision for how the Israeli-Palestinian conflict could be resolved, but he said that basically the actors are going to have to make some fundamental choices, fundamental choices on the part of the
Palestinians about ending terror and building democratic institutions and, at that time, finding new leadership.
He talked about fundamental choices that the Israelis were going to have to make about creating conditions in which a new Palestinian state could emerge, and, indeed, that meant that the Israelis were going to have to recognize that there was going to have to be land for -- contiguous land for this Palestinian state to exist on. And he talked about the responsibility of Arab states to end incitement and to support the peace process and for all of us to recognize that peace and security and democracy and an end to terror all go together.
The good thing about the last couple of months has been that I think you're starting to see the parties make good, fundamental choices. And as they make those good, fundamental choices, it opens up the possibility of getting back
on the roadmap toward a two-state solution.I don't think any of us doubt that without a Palestinian state that is
viable, that can represent the aspirations of the Palestinian people, that there really isn't going to be a peace for either the Palestinian people or for the Israelis. And so we're going to be -- over the next several months, I'm going to Israel and to the West Bank on this trip that I'm going on. We're going to be working with the parties, now that they've begun to make
those fundamental choices, to push forward toward the date when we have a two-state solution. And I think it's in our grasp, although it's still something that has to be worked toward vigilantly.

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST
Did Six Million Jews really die under Nazism? No, the real Holocaust took place in Russia and the old USSR when Jewish Bolshevism, Jewish communism took over Russia and destroyed nearly every church and murdered Christians by the millions. These Jews who took over Russia killed nearly every priest and every pastor. JEWISH ESTIMATE SEES NUMBER OF HOLOCAUST DEAD DROP TO 2.8 MILLION According to Hilberg, as quoted in an article written by himself in the 1998 Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia under the heading Holocaust, the six camps, their means of killing and their total number of victims was as follows: "Chelmno had gas vans, and its death toll was 150,000; Belzec had carbon monoxide gas chambers in which 600,000 Jews were killed; Sobibor's gas chambers accounted for 250,000 dead; Treblinka's for 700,000 to 800,000; At Majdanek, some 50,000 were gassed or shot; and in Auschwitz, the Jewish dead totaled more than 1 million." - Raul Hilberg, "Holocaust," Microsoft "Encarta" 98 Encyclopedia. 1993-1997 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.)" This only accounts for 2.8 million dead: (as the other camps did not have gas chambers); if Hilberg's figures are correct, then the number of six million dead drops, by Jewish estimates, by half to just over 3 million, even if the verified Einsatzgruppen victims are included. UNITED STATES AND EUROPE DIFFER OVER STRATEGY ON IRAN
NYT by Elaine Sciolino - January 29, 2005 - PARIS, Jan. 28 - President Bush's second term has barely begun, and Iran is already shaping up as its most serious diplomatic challenge. But conflicting pronouncements by Mr. Bush and his national security team have left Iran frustrated and angry about the direction of American policy, and the Europeans more determined than ever to push Washington to embrace their engagement strategy. To the outside world, the administration seems divided over whether to promote the overthrow of Iran's Islamic Republic - perhaps by force - or to tacitly support the approach embraced by the Europeans, which favors negotiations and a series of incentives that would ultimately require American participation. "You need to get everybody to read from the same page, the Europeans and the Americans," said Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, in an interview in Davos on Friday... France, Germany and Britain - with European Union support - opened negotiations with Iran last month that could give Iran generous rewards on nuclear energy, trade and economic, political and security cooperation if Iran can provide guarantees that it is not developing a nuclear weapon... The British foreign secretary, Jack Straw, has also strongly criticized a possible military attack on Iran as "inconceivable." Mr. Straw told the BBC that the issue of a military option was not raised during his talks with Ms. Rice and other officials in Washington this week.

SHARON SEES PEACE CHANCE WITH PALESTINIANS
NYT by Greg Myre -: January 28, 2005 - JERUSALEM, Jan. 27 - In unusually upbeat remarks, the Israeli prime minister, Ariel Sharon, said Thursday that there was an opportunity for a "historic breakthrough" with the Palestinians, and he had warm words for their new leader, Mahmoud Abbas. Mr. Abbas called for a formal cease-fire agreement with Israel, while his prime minister ordered a ban on carrying weapons in areas under Palestinian security control, the latest of several steps intended to rein in militants. Mr. Sharon has expressed skepticism about whether such steps are substantive. But on Thursday, he offered some of his most optimistic comments since Mr. Abbas was elected on Jan. 9. "I believe that the conditions have been created that will allow us and the Palestinians to reach a historic breakthrough in relations," Mr. Sharon said Thursday night in a speech in Tel Aviv. "It seems that there is a positive approach there regarding the war on terrorism and advancing the diplomatic process." "If the Palestinians take comprehensive action to stop terrorism, violence and incitement," he said, then the Middle East peace plan known as the road map could begin being put into place, and the coming Israeli withdrawal from Gaza could be coordinated. He spoke during a visit by William J. Burns, the chief State Department diplomat for the Middle East. Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei issued the weapons ban at a meeting of the Palestinian National Security Council in Ramallah, said Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator.

SUHA ARARFAT IS LIVING OFF OF HER HUSBAND'S MILLIONS
By Syrian Nabil Fayyadhi: While Palestinians die of starvation Arafat's fortune is estimated at $4.2 billion. How can I explain that Ahmed Qurei, for instance, indirectly funds the building of the separation fence built by the Sharon government? I understand that this is an occupying government that has a conflict with the Palestinian people. I realize that. I don't justify it, but I understand it. But how can I understand that the Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, and everywhere is starving to death while Mrs. Suha Arafat is living off of her husband's millions traveling from one place to another?"

ALLAH'S REWARD TO A MARTYR
By Palestinian-Kuwaiti Sheik Ahmad Qattan: "A martyr gets six rewards from Allah: His sins are forgiven with the first drop of his blood, and he sees his place in heaven; he is spared the torments of the grave, and he is safe from the great horror; the
crown of honor is placed on his head - with a jewel finer than this world and what is in it; he is married off to 72 black-eyed women, and he may plead for 70 of his relatives. This reminds me of the Mujahideen and Martyrdom seekers who stand in line in Palestine: men and women, adults and children, awaiting their turn to sign, with their blood and their broken
bones, their pledge of faith in Allah." http://www.memritv.org/search.asp?ACT=S9&P1=464

STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT BUSH
January 9, 2005 - "I am heartened by today's strong turnout in the Palestinian elections Palestinians throughout the West Bank and Gaza took a key step toward building a democratic future by choosing a new president in elections that
observers describe as largely free and fair. This is a historic day for the Palestinian people and for the people of the Middle East. America and all free nations strongly support the efforts of the Palestinian people to create lasting democratic institutions. These efforts -- including today's presidential elections and the parliamentary elections that will follow in several months -- are essential for the establishment of a sovereign, independent, viable, democratic, and peaceful Palestinian state that can live alongside a safe and secure Israel. These elections are further proof that when given a choice, all peoples seek to live in liberty and to choose their own government. The United States stands ready to help the Palestinian people realize their aspirations. The new Palestinian president and his cabinet face critical tasks ahead, including fighting terrorism, combatting corruption, building reformed and democratic institutions, and reviving the Palestinian economy.
We look forward to working with him and the Palestinian people to address these challenges and to advance the cause of Middle East peace consistent with the vision I set forth on June 24, 2002, of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security. Other countries also have constructive and vital roles to play. Israel must help to improve the
humanitarian and economic situation in the West Bank and Gaza, and follow through with the Disengagement Plan. The Arab states must take concrete steps with all parties to create a regional environment conducive to peace, lend financial support to the Palestinian people, and refuse to assist or harbor terrorists. The United States is looking carefully at how we can best
organize and fund our own efforts to help the parties achieve a lasting peace. # # # www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/01/20050109.html

PM SHARON AND FM NETANYAHU RECOMMEND STANLEY FISCHER AS NEXT BANK OF ISRAEL GOVERNOR
09 January, 2005 - Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have agreed to recommend that Stanley Fischer appointed next Governor of the Bank of Israel. This was agreed at a meeting between the Prime Minister, the Finance Minister and the Directors-General of their ministries, Yossi Bachar and Ilan Cohen, respectively, who served
as the search committee for a suitable candidate. The decision will be submitted to the Bach Committee on Senior Civil Service appointments, the Cabinet and President Moshe Katsav for their approval. Stanley Fischer is a Jew from the US, who speaks Hebrew. He has had many years of contact with the State of Israel and the Israeli economy, including
serving as US administration representative vis-?-vis the Israeli economy's mid-1980's stabilization plan. Fischer has also taught at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Fischer, 61, is today the Vice Chairman of Citigroup, the largest financial
corporation in the world, and is considered to be one of the most senior economists in the world. He has previously served First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. Prime Minister Sharon and Finance Minister Netanyahu proposed to Fischer a few weeks ago that he emigrate to Israel, where he would be appointed Governor of the Bank of Israel; this morning, Fischer accepted the offer. Prime Minister Sharon and Finance Minister Netanyahu said that, "Fischer is
an economist with a global reputation and the State of Israel will be blessed with his talents, principally in the era of globalization in the economic markets. The fact that a person like him is willing to cut his ties to Citibank, to immigrate to Israel and serve as Governor of the Bank of Israel, is a wonderful opportunity for the Israeli economy." UNITED TORAH JUDAISM SAYS IT WILL JOIN SHARON'S COALITION
Haaretz 5 January 2005 [Some abstained from voting ] It noted, however, that Yachad MK Zahava Gal-On said this week that Yachad would even go so far as to vote in favor of the coalition if that was required in order to insure that the disengagement is not delayed by elections.] The ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism party will join Prime Minister Ariel
Sharon's reshuffled coalition, party Knesset Member Avraham Ravitz said on Wednesday. The move will give the new coalition a parliamentary majority. Ravitz told Channel One that the 95-year-old spiritual leader of the party,
Rabbi Shalom Elyashiv, gave his approval for joining Sharon's team on Wednesday afternoon. Ravitz said that Elyashiv had to struggle with widespread opposition among Orthodox Jews to Sharon's plan to withdraw from Gaza and part of the West Bank. "Like every scholar, he took into account a wide variety of issues" in making his decision, Ravits told Channel One. Elyashiv took a week to decide, leaving Sharon without a stable government. In recent days he talked about calling an election if UTJ did not join. The Labor party has already agreed to enter Sharon's coalition. Along with Likud's 40 Knesset seats and Labor's 21, UTJ's five seats would give Sharon a majority of the 120 seats in parliament for the first time since the summer. www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/523506.html - IMRA - Independent Media Review and Analysis Israel

JEWISH GROUPS CALLS 'THE PASSION' AN ACT OF TERRORISM
Capitol Press 2.27.2004 - Washington D.C. - A prominent Jewish organization has denounced Mel Gibson's "The Passion" as an act of terrorism and can prove the movie violates the Patriot Act. Jews Against Anti-Semitism, a recently formed Washington D.C. based defense league for Jews, has issued a press release pointing out sections of U.S. law which are being violated by Mel Gibson's film. "Clearly there are laws on the books which have outlawed the inciting of riots or acts civil disobedience which endanger human life. Mel Gibson's movie will incite violence against Jews and put the lives of million of Jews in danger" said Rabbi David Feldman, a spokes person for Jews Against Anti-Semitism. Indeed, see HJR 104, Public Law 102-14 Universal Noahide Laws of Talmud Bavli, which states that any one who worships Jesus of Nazareth should be decapitated... According to Rabbi Feldman "Under Section 802 of the 2001 USA Patriot Act, any crime which endangers human life is defined as an act of domestic terrorism. Mel Gibson's incitement of anti-Semitism is a civil disobedience crime which endangers human life and under the Patriot Act "The Passion" is an act of domestic terrorism" The USA Patriot Act was signed into law by President George W. Bush shortly after the September 11th terrorist attacks in New York and Washington D.C. in order to protect Americans from terrorism. "We are hereby calling on Attorney General John Ashcroft, the Department of Justice, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge and the Department of Homeland Security to arrest Mel Gibson as a terrorist, confiscate all prints of "the Passion", confiscate all materials related to the film as "terrorist paraphernalia" and shut down every terrorist hate site on the internet supporting the film" said Rabbi Feldman. The Justice Department and the Department of Homeland Security have yet to respond to the inquiries made by Capitol Press regarding this story.
